Nice pictures! Been awhile since I went snow wheeling. Don't be afraid to air down, you'll get more traction in snow aired down than any other single method in my experience (even better than lockers). Especially if you're at something super high like 20+ psi. Dropping to 10psi will make it like you have tracks. Also good to know if you're out by yourself. I've gotten stuck with the tundra before by myself and dropped to 2psi on the stock wheels to get out and just drove carefully to where I could air up. You'll be mind blown what even relatively high pressure aired down (10-15psi) will do for you.

To be honest, I didnt give it any thought. I could have. I know I wanted my rear wheels in less snow. My rear wheels had way more traction than the front.
Plus my tow hooks are up front.

That is actually a good thought. I have no idea why we didn’t think of it. I thinks it’s cause the snow was so deep in spots that we didn’t want to risk getting another stuck by trying to turn around? Or maybe just caught up in the moment and we didn’t think.

Very good observation and will make a mental note of that LOL

I love it out there. We camp at Mueller a lot during the summer. Last time I was on the trails was a couple of years ago in my supercharged FJ. Won't be on the trails in my Tundra until I can lift it a little and get new tires. Don't trust the original Michelins off road.

I take the family camping at Mueller. Last time the dude bitched me out for having one tire off the pavement. LOL.

I tried Medano in the snow last November and had some similar learnings, except I was solo so ended up turning back. Not often these days you see people bother to throw a damper over the snatch :101010:
