Major delays at ARE

I hope you are right. I ordered one on 5 Apr and they told me that it wouldn't be here before the end of June or early July. If you are right it will be here earlier than I thought.

 

There is a world wide shortage of resin for the fiberglass in addition to COVID working conditions that are causing delays. Waiting sucks.

 

called my dealer friday and was told my cx/hd is still scheduled for shipment on wed 5/19. I will check with them then and get back to everyone. I was also told about the resin shortage by the dealer a few weeks ago. I ordered 3/13 so im just about at 10 weeks.

 

That gives me hope that mine will come faster than the possible 15 weeks that my dealer told me. He said 10 to 15 weeks. 10 would be a lot better than 15.

 

I hope yours does come faster than the 10-15 they told you. I was told 8-10 weeks and it seems like its going to be right at 10 if it actually ships wednesday. I was first told ship date of 5/22 but somehow it changed over to 5/19 along the way.

 

All, Got the call yesterday that my Cx-Hd arrived friday and I am going to get it installed tomorrow at 8am. The shell shipped on the day they said it would when i first ordered it, 10 weeks to be exact.

Update; MX Was delayed from 5/10 now awaiting 6/14 to leave the facility..( that will make 15weeks here on the NE Coast)... fingers crossed

 

Just a heads up, I’m picking up a pop up camper in a few weeks and will be selling my MGM color matched MX model. It’s bare bones with no carpeting or lights but it’s in great shape.

Called the dealer today to ask about the cap I ordered on April 21. They looked it up and said it is projected to be delivered in August, “but it’s not real accurate” and could be longer. The dealer is as irritated as I am. They have 30 their waiting on. The original time frame was 7-10 weeks lol.

 

Update:
Ordered on Apr 5th. Was told it would be here end of June or beginning of July.

Called a month ago and was told it would ship on 1 July and be here about 6 July.

Called yesterday and was told it is built and shipping on 9 July. I will be able to pick it up around 13 or 14 July.

Dealer called and told me my topper was finally in. I get it Friday. I would get it earlier but my schedule is screwed up. April 5th to July 13th was the time from order to delivery.

I ordered one yesterday was told first week in November. Although the dealer did say the plant was going back to a 6 day work week because resin supply had increased. So perhaps I will get lucky and see it sooner.

 

Ordered the ARE Z for my 18 crewmax on 3/19/21. Called on 7/19/21 and it has been made but won't ship until 8/14. Was told 10-12 weeks when I ordered and it has been 17 weeks as of this past Monday. Dealers around here are being told 18-22 weeks out on orders. Sure hope the wait is worth it.

Called my dealer yesterday. He said my cap was “released” on the 30th but it doesn’t mean anything. Lol.

A.R.E. caps are 16-20 weeks out.

 

16-20 weeks is insane .

 

Got the call last Friday that mine was in, but 9/4 is the earliest install available. Counting down the days.

 

I’m going on week 20. Nothing.

I finally got it today. 25 weeks and two days. Good Grief. Quoted 7-10 weeks. So far I like the cap. The Yakima racks were quiet.

 

Do you find the interior lights bright enough?

 

I bought mine at the beginning ish of the pandem8c albeit through leer. Since covid started its been 10 wweks plus no matter who you go through. Just get used to it boys

 

Yes I’m happy with the lights, very bright. I went with the two strips, but I think I would have been happy with the single strip too. I recommend the prop switch.

 

I have the drop down front window in my ARE and love it. These caps fit very close to the cab and it is almost impossible to clean them and the rear cab window adequately.
