New problems. I ordered the prop switches on all doors and just discovered the lights above the windoors will only work if the tailgate hatch window is open. :annoyed:

Mine has the handle to open it in the middle, but there is still a physical latch at each corner.

Still no call back or update on the tilt out slider window replacement. Maybe I just take it the way it is and call it good for $1,000. If and when they want their remaining $1,400 I'll take the window replacement.

Last check with Line X was Thursday, October 8th and they said the window would be in early the following week. Still no call back. On to another week of waiting.

Do Line X and ARE have the same parent company or what is the connection?
Is Line X dealer for ARE?

I have to get a new seal for the door on my Leer and my dealer said it's taking them up to 3 months to get parts right now.

As far as I know Line X is just a distributor for ARE. My big issue is that I had already waited 12 weeks for my topper. When Line X informed ARE they had installed the incorrect window during production, I would have assumed my fix would have been expedited. I guess they are thinking, the guy has his topper, he can live with the wrong window. Which is true, I'm not insensitive to what's going on in the world. it would just be nice to get it wrapped up. At some point somebody, ARE or Line X, will want to be paid the remaining $1,400.

    First world problems I guess!

Crazy mess we are in. All sorts of products are back logged. I still can't find adhesive backed sandpaper for a palm sander.

Do they drill holes and bolt the canopy to the truck?

How easy is it to remove if you need to?

Not sure if this question is intended for a different thread because of the reference to canopy.

Gottcha. I have always referred to them as topper but maybe some parts of the country call them canopy.

They attach with four c type clamps, one in each corner. Although I have not had this one off yet, they are very easy to take on an off. If you look further back in the thread you will see an inside picture and the black clamp.

Is there a plug for disconnecting the wiring (interior or brake light) when you remove it?

Wow, seems different here, shop next to my old shop was rented by a repo man for a few months, we had to talk with him about filling our trash dumpster and our cardboard only dumpster with peoples stuff that was in the cars. I had to dig it out of the cardboard only dumpster before and it was all personal stuff worth a few bucks overall but some was real sad like toys and papers.

Have you looked into Leer? I'm told by Line X that the ARE production facility is forced to have employees working in isolation and that is the reason for the delay. No way of knowing whether that is true. Maybe Ohio has some state mandates controlling how employers operate.

I haven't called to check the status of my window replacement. Bottom line is there are some major communication breakdowns happening between ARE and Line X. The production process must be using stone tablets if they can't get the correct window for me on a topper that took 16 weeks to deliver. Again, I'm sympathetic to delays related to COVID but this is just poor business practice that they can't expedite a fix for an order they screwed up.

    Not sour at all!

I ordered a CX Classic from ARE today and they gave a 12 week lead time. Totally bummed it's not sooner but I'm willing to wait for their product.

Damn, I'm glad I got mine when I did. Ordered early August, received late August. It is a Ranch brand. I was told by the distributer that long lines may be coming, I guess he was right. OP, I truly hope you get this resolved to your satisfaction, at least you still have your $1400!

Ordered a V Series July 27th and had it installed a week ago. Took a long time but very happy with it.

Anyone near PA should check out Ishlers Truck Caps- highly recommend.
