For 2018+, for the stage 1 kit, does not require calibration or replacement injectors. 100% serious. Harrop would be best to explain the "why" a stock calibration works. Trust me, I asked plenty of times. Part of the 2018+ installation requires a modification of the fuel regulator, which essentially increases fuel pressure.

However, I contacted Mat, with OV tuning, and we're doing custom tuning on mine, mostly for transmission shift timing. I have 4.88s, with 35s, so the shifting, I felt, was a little off. I do a lot of towing, too, so my tune will be with that in mind.

With Harrop's stage II kit, they add in replacement injectors, 80mm pulley, and you'll need custom tuning.

My experience so far, I'm very happy with this kit. For a 6000+lb. truck, it really moves! Performs extremely well when towing up grades.

What else did you need for the install to work? My quote for the Magnuson @ $6995 requires aToyota fuel pump housing replacement for $445 (for the new Magnuson fuel pump). $1500 labor for the SC, $250.00 labor to do the fuel pump. Plus this and that and rendering Ceaser his 6% I'm just shy of $10,100......but no fix for tuning the 2019 yet of course. I looked at the Harrop...but not too hard yet.

guess you are not FFV. You will need injectors but those are included in the kit. My install was around 1,200 and Tundra Dude. (Non FFV) was just over 1,500. I think you can get the Magnuson for 6,500 or less. I was right at 6,400.

Correct. Non FFV. I think I'll check into the Harrop. I didn't really start thinking SC until recently with all the other upgrades an item at a time over the last year...to me, something is f-ed up if they can't figure out the new codes when they started telling Tundra owners back in March...coming soon. It's 2020 now last time I checked.

TT Chris at Harrop this morning. Sent e-mail and he pretty much called be back in a minute...anyway...

Got to go with the Stage 1....matches factory specs he says so no tuning required. They are working on Stage 2 for the 2019/2020 Tundra which will be a smaller pulley and will require tuning...says you can upgrade your stage 1 to stage 2 once they have that figured out. Stage 1 back ordered TWO to three weeks. I think I'll try the Harrop SC. The install labor may be less than the Magnuson....well see on that.

I've been married to the same girl for 33 years. After many years of mistakes, I finally have my lying eyes down to a science. I'll just wear shades for a couple days,,,she'll just think that's normal. Right.

Due to the conversation above I talked to Harrop too. Its interesting how the stock tune is compatible with their stage 1 kit. I'm not sure I would have believed it without @Midway having it installed. I might be in trouble if my bonus is good enough this year.

I would think labor would be the same as the tune takes very little time. All the other stuff should be the same i would guess.

I’m with some of the other posts, never would have believed no tune is necessary going you are adding a blower and 200 plus HP. You can go OV later. Good for you.

Stage 1 install sounds good, stage 2 specs sound "sick".

I have a speed shop down the street from me where I work. They install but haven't dealt with Harrop....I put them in touch with each other and waiting for someone to get back to me. I asked Harrop if they would sell the supercharger to me direct and was told, not preferred, they would rather deal with the installer. I'm not tackling this project...Know when to hold em, Know when to fold em. The company is called RT Tuning in Montgomeryville, PA. Harrop told me there is an outside chance that my 2019 is compatible with their tune. Once the stars align, I just take my truck to RT and let them plug it in to see if I'm good for stage 2...or, stage 1. If stage 1, I'll go ahead and get it done and wait till they figure out the newer Toyota tune. Another $600 for the pulley and injectors....plus labor.

I don't think it's that complicated - or that they have some list of approved installers..if you know a good mechanic, put them in touch with each other. From what I can tell, Harrop is not as well entrenched in the US as the likes of Magnuson. Even when I called Magnuson, they told me as long as the mechanic/shop is ASE certified, they are ok with it and will stand by their warranty.

You're correct, I had Harrop contact my shop of Choice. Harrop was already talking to them before I even called my shop to secure a reservation. Harrop really goes out of their way to make sure everything is seamless. I couldn't ask for better customer service.

I think Harrop is "hungry". I like that they are in Ohio too, right on the other side of the turnpike from me.....seems like almost every after market component I've added so far has originated on or near the Left Coast! Not that there is anything wrong with that of course....except SHIPPING COSTS.

    Yes, even better!

It seemed like an eternity when my kit was shipped, watching the UPS ground truck, slowly make its way from OH to NV.

Even the container they ship it in is great quality. It's super stout. I now use it for my stock parts.

If people are mechanically inclined, the supercharger is one of the easier things to install. Lots of steps, but half of them are undo this hose and then reinstall it. Any shop that's worth a shit could install one, and if you can install a lift you can install a supercharger if you're looking to save some money.

Indeed. I just finished installing the SDHQ hidden winch mount with a shittybilt X20 12K winch - mounted the controller up under the hood......6 hours? I was putting the bumper back on 16 hours later. Know when to walk away, no when to RUN.

Harrop's warranty is 3/32,000. I would guess they want the reassurance that a reputable shop does the install instead of a hobbyist like me. I don't doubt I could install it myself but it would take me at least 1.5X or more than a mechanic who is inside an engine every day. They told me a recent 2020 was done by a Toyota tech (first Harrop SC) at a dealership and it was a full day.

I wish I never saw that beast in an orange box picture above....now I'm toast.

Two best things I did in 2019, got rid of my ecoshit f150 and bought a Tundra.......followed by the worst thing (according to my spouse) was joining Tundras.com!

The other concern i have is my truck has an extended warranty 75000 miles and the SC only covers out to 32000 miles i would not be happy to loose the coverage.. good thing i just did gears and a air locker now im forced to wait until august

I did the sc on a gen3 4 runner twice but that had no intercooler/pump, no injector replacement, no fuel pump replacement (done that on a chevy, it sucked)no tune and It was still a bit of work.
I would be hesitant to do a magnuson install even though I know I could.
