    Hello All,
Just (yesterday) ordered the new Magnuson 2650 for my 2013 Tundra. The truck has zero performance (motor) modifications right now. I lifted the truck on King Coilovers from Dirty Deeds and added Toytec shackles with SPC UCA's years ago. Truck runs great on 35's and I've been happy with it for 7 years.

    Truck info:
    162k miles
    2013 Tundra Crewmax 5.7L non-flex fuel - Platinum
    black on black
    moderate lift
    35x12.5r17 tires

Truck has never had a single issue. I routinely change the oil every 5k miles. I towed 7k# boat every other day 4 months out of the year for 4 years or so (stopped last year when I sold the boat). It's been a strong truck.

Looking forward to charging the truck.

I plan to perform the install myself and will keep everyone posted as things progress. Hoping the kit doesn't take too long to ship from SCOL.

Pic of the truck because these threads are worthless without pics.

Thanks! Glad to hear of another happy magnuson 2650 owner. How did the tuning go with the VF tuner?

Are you talking about the TVS 1900? They just released the TVS 2650 recently.

I think he must be. I'm not sure this system has been installed yet (except for the red 3rd gen that has been bouncing around here...with the rebuilt title)

Heard from SCOL. Order has been processed and is awaiting shipment from Magnuson. Looks like 4-6 weeks. Time to hurry up and wait!

also I’m at 158k miles and am about to pull the trigger for the 2650 SC

Thoughts on upgrading the stock radiator? Worth it or no use if the stock one is in good shape?

Can someone tell me the biggest differences between the 1900 and the 2650? I have the 1900 and noticed Magnusen has an upgrade kit available for 5k. Would it even be worth it? Can I sell just my blower very easily if I upgraded?

1900 is 1.9L displacement, while 2650 is the larger 2.6L displacement.
It's going to produce more power on the stock pulley, and capable of creating much more power with a smaller pulley while providing lower IAT (intake air temps). Thus, more power and theoretically safer at doing so.
2650 also has dual ports (2 in/2 out) for coolant flow IIRC (whereas the 1900 only has 1 in/1 out, but someone else would need to confirm/correct me on that.

Correct. It does not 'fit' because it was designed to mount to a bolt on top of the maggie 1900 blower. Not sure it even fits the new 2650 from maggie. He will have to find a mounting solution for the PS can if he has Whipple or Harrop SC.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    pains me to say this...

the 1.9L Mag is probably quicker off the line. it appears to build boost quicker.

the 2650 is all the things mentioned above.

I got the 2650 Harrop because of the innovations in cooling. I'm fairly conservative & the 2650 fit the bill.
and the Harrop, unlike the Mag, is not upside down. :crapstorm:

    Long Story short....
You will not see ANY difference in the performance of the 2 S/C's. You will only see a difference if you decide to go BIG on HP.

Upside down lol yes of course.

    OK back to mods.

I'm going to order the catch can and install along with the SC.
    - Tundra Catch Can Kits, 07-21 (radiumauto.com)
Is this even necessary? I keep seeing them in pictures and mentioned in other posts but can't see a real reason for it under normal conditions.
    - '07-21 Toyota Tundra SDHQ Built Secondary Air Pump Intake Relocation K (sdhqoffroad.com)
Then there is the radiator. Mine is stock and seems to be OK. SC will add strain to the cooling system. Is this a safe preventative measure? Or just keep stock and replace with stock once (if) anything happens to it? The price isn't too bad, but the main focus is 'best practices'
    - Performance Aluminum Radiator, fits Toyota Tundra 4.6L/4.7L/5.7L 2007-2021 | Mishimoto
    - CSF Heavy-Duty All-Aluminum Radiator for the 2nd Gen Tundra (csfrace.com)
Lastly, the coolant tank for the maggie sc kit. Others claim it leaks but this doesn't seem to be a standard upgrade. Just that people upgrade to this if they experience leaks. I also can't say if maggie is supplying the same tank with the 2650 that they did with the 1900... or if any harrop/whippe users have similar issues.
    - Supercharger Heat Exchanger Coolant Tank TRD Magnuson (shopfigs.com)

    Thanks

catch can is preventative, at best....it keeps the schmeg off your rotors.

Radiator...I have ZERO heat problems running my stock unit. my avg coolant temp remained unchanged when I added the Harrop.

IMO, it's not worth it. $5k for just the upgrade. Most of the existing kit will be reused. So, I think it'll be fairly difficult to sell just the 1900 and whatever few pieces of the kit that are replaced. For the average user the 1900 is just fine. I bought mine to make towing my boat easier.

SAIS relocation is not worth it or necessary. If you want to do it, I'd piece it together yourself vice paying what SDHQ is charging. I priced out what I needed on Amazon, should I ever do it, for under $165.
I would upgrade your radiator. I went with a Koyo all aluminum radiator. I did this even before I installed my 1900 as the OEM radiator had already sprung a small leak. If yours isn't leaking now, it eventually will.
I haven't had any problem my coolant tank nor read of anyone that the actual tank itself was the culprit.

@Silver17 posted a chart comparing the Maggie TVS 1900 to the Harrop TVS 2650. The Maggie upgrade will be similar. For most folks the Maggie TVS 1900 is fine since they want quick low end torque for pulling/hauling. The bigger blowers are more favorable to run as you start chasing bigger WHP #s.

You can probably sell the TVS 1900 for some decent coin offsetting the cost of your upgrade.
