@CO_Native thanks! I actually had them on my 2012 I traded in for the 20, they were barely broke in and I hate the factory highways so since they were the same size the dealer swapped them to my new pickup and put the new highways on my 12.

The place I use for my vehicles has a wait list for when they open back up to.. so when they do open I'll likely have to wait another 2 weeks after that.

I know I am trying to be patient. My birthday is next month and I've asked for the blacked out overlays. Normally I just plasti dip them but I thought I'd go this route as I imagine it will look better over time. I even have a brand new can of plasti dip just staring at me every time I go into the garage lol. It's been a battle with myself.

 

I plasti dipped mine the first day I brought the truck home. It has held up for 3+ years on my Tacoma and 4 years on my 4runner bumper valences. The overlays look nice as well. I wish Toyota didn't go with a light great bed side decal though

On another note, my 5" iboard side steps started corroding after the first winter here on the east coast and Amazon refunded me, no questions asked. Finish was corroding underneath the black paint next to rubber step pads. Might buy another set and rust check them better, I know Amazon will refund me if they fail again and they're only $250

 

Yeah I plasti dipped all my other vehicles too... In Canada it's about $20-$25 bucks a can and normally after a couple years of washing you can start to see chrome peek through. Figured for the extra $35 just get the overlays and save the hassle of taping shit off and having to go through the process.

I actually have two custom TRD "Canadian edition" with a maple leaf and a hockey stick that I ordered extra of for my Tacoma and never used. Debating throwing those on or just taking them off and leaving it bare.

Swap it! There was a vendor on here that was selling matte black replacements but I think he got out of the consumer side and is just doing business decals now. You can find them on eBay though.

 

Truck looks good btw. I am debating some sort of step bar or something. For the little fella when he's not enough and the old lady is short as hell lol. Extra bonus door ding protection. Amazon is usually really good with returns. However sometimes they've tried to charge me with a re-stocking fee

 

I've been looking on eBay but didn't see any stock looking ones that just had darker colour options. Maybe I need to look harder. Wondered about quality too, how long they'd last in the weather?
