Good to see there was minimal carnage.

Something similar happened to me with my wife's Armada. The rear passenger door lock actuator quit working and somehow prevented the door from opening from both the inside and the outside. I took it to Nissan and they were unable to get it open and said that the only option for them was to try and remove the door panel from the inside, but they couldn't guarantee that the door panel wouldn't get damaged or broken. They quoted me ~$800 for a new door panel if that were to happen. I ended up taking it back home and removed the rear passenger seat to have more room to work with. I was able to get the door panel removed from inside the SUV myself and then took it back to Nissan to let them complete the warranty work for the actuator. I'd rather not have them break the door panel just to finish the job quickly while I foot the bill. The door lock actuator also contains the door latch assembly and that's where something had broken preventing the door from being opened.

Glad you got it squared away.
