Lunar Rock is kind of a cool Color, but I'm just not digging it for a Tundra

I swear to god some of you guys have more money than sense. Trading in what appears to be 2-3 year old Tundra's for new Tundra's just because it's a different color. Unreal.

For all we know they are all on leases so a new truck will be needed at end of the lease. Quit judging. It's not your money.

And leasing is equally stupid. If people are going to post it publicly, I reserve the right to think it's a terrible decision. But you are correct, it is in fact their money.

To be fair, it's not just you. I see it all the time on here from people who are trading in their new trucks. FOMO is real. It's your money though. Thanks for stimulating the economy.

There's always at least one on every forum who has very vocal opinions on when, exactly, it would be acceptable for someone else to spend their own money. Those people usually decide to offer that opinion when the conversation isn't even about finances, but rather when it is about something unrelated, like "do you like this color."

    The internet, I tell ya...

Got me there, definitely have more money but maybe not for a good reason. If I had it my way I’d still be in my 2019 pro. Luckily I did well in a bad situation (car accident) and got paid more than I had paid for my pro. So either I buy a base and build it or buy another pro. Building a base model would have cost me maybe a couple grand less but would have taken hours and hours of work.

Let’s just say I made good choices in life and perhaps I’m making a reasonable living. If the trucks total cost were perhaps a quarter of my annual income would it be a stupid way to use my money? Or perhaps I could dig deeper, let’s say between me and the wife me are making at least 200k a year, I buy a truck for say 45k and pay 15k over the next 2 years. When I trade it in I get 40k. Thus getting the additional 10k back in equity. So I was spending 2.5k a year on the truck, or 1.25% of our income end all cost. Should I worry about how I spend 1.25% of my income? Lol, I agree with you, context matters, a lot. Hell that doesn’t even bother considering any investments or my retirement or having essentially no other bills. I made a lot of good choices along the way and some bad, but these trucks hold their value too well to throw out a blanket statement for people we know nothing about.

Sorry to hear about the bad accident - major bummer on your 2019 Pro. But most importantly, hope you're doing well!

You definitely should not feel the need to justify. There's ALWAYS at least one person who has "financial advice" and is ready with the keyboard to tell someone else how they should or shouldn't spend their money. I kinda get it if the topic is about money and finances, but I don't understand it at all when someone brings it up when it's not even the topic at hand. I don't feel the need to flex financially for a bunch of people I don't know and will never meet, nor do I need to take financial advice from a random on a car/truck forum. But this is the internet, and that's the kind of thing that is to be expected.

Back to the topic at hand... I agree with the person who said Lunar Rock is not a bad color, but it just doesn't "fit" for the Tundra in my opinion. It would look nice on a sports car though.

I’m not, or am I? It’s a hypothetical statement. I’m just a bit of a thinker sometimes and get carried away. I don’t take any offense or didn’t feel like I was flexing, it’s really just painting a narrative lol. No hard feelings towards anyone, just having a bit of fun.

Finally had one show up near me, and I gotta say that I really like the color now!

So much so, that I'm now trying to find a cement tundra (my original choice to purchase soon) near me to compare it to. It makes me wish cement was a few shades darker because up close I think I still like the blue undertone more than LR's green, but I think I like LR's gray from a distance more than cement. In my opinion, cement gets a little "washed out" from a distance in the sun and looks too close to silver for my liking.

    Decisions, decisions...

I was iffy on the color but saw one in person earlier this week and really like it. Was in the market for Platinum, but this has me rethinking that. I don't really even care for green shades in general, but the way the black contrasts against the color, it looks really nice. Might wait for stock to build up some more and try to snag one.

I’m actually liking the new color so much I’m trading in my 2019 Voodoo Blue TRD Pro for the 2021 Lunar Rock TRD Pro. I can’t wait until I get the call from the dealership to let me know that it is there !

We saw our first Lunar Rock Pro on Saturday. My wife's first comment "That's ugly"
It definitely has a strong green tint, more pronounced than most photos here.
