4 months after ordering it finally came and was installed today by Torrance Shell Center. ARE matched the color perfectly. Immediately saw a difference in gas mileage on way home. I love it and can't wait to put the road bikes in the back!

Nice on the door handles. Did you buy them painted, or had them painted?

Nice looking with the shell on. Are you saying better mpg with it?

Since April I've put about 7K on her and while on the freeway I never consistently got above the 15 mpg mark on the digital graph via the display. Today, on the 30+ mile drive home it was pretty consistently above 20+ mph. We will see if this holds up for right now I'll take it, cuz I've been yelling "bullshit" on the reported mpg from the sticker when I bought it. LOL

Thanks dude. Just messaged them for a quote. What % did you get?

And what the overall consensus on ceramic tint?

Do they still sell regular tint? up in Canada everything has been ceramic for so long that I don't recall seeing regular tint being offered, rear window is 35% so I had mine matched to that before I picked it up.

Color stable still exists in my area. That said, go ceramic, but don't go super high end ceramic, IMO. I did the high end stuff and don't think it's worth the extra money.

They do here in SOCAL. I've been calling shops and need to specify or directly ask about ceramic. I was thinking 35% too, but I might just darker. I'll try to look for samples

Nice. thanks for the head up. I just got a quote from the shop @Gass_Passer recommended and they have an mid grade ceramic tint that I'm probably gonna go with.

    Here's what I did:

    35% front sides
    55% windshield
70% over the factory tint for side/back windows

I'm pretty happy overall, the look is somewhat uniform, there isn't a huge transition point from light to dark, although the backs are a little darker than the fronts. If I had to do it all over again, I might go with 70% on the windshield because it's a tad dark on overcast days, but I also appreciate that I don't have to wear sunglasses on medium-bright days anymore. 70% would also be closer to legal. It's a trade-off.

Edit: this was with Xpel XR ceramic

Went with Advanced Nano Ceramic at 55% on windshield, 20% all the way around the rest, including the factory tinted windows.

Thanks to both of you. I just stalked your post to see all the pictures and both look great!

@Gass_Passer I spoke to OC tint and they recommended the Ceramic IR which is a grade lower than yours. I'll check both out when I'm there this Saturday and decide. Thi is the first time I'm getting tint so we'll see how it goes.

Nice! You will be impressed with them. They weren't pushy about any of the product and in fact quite informative. They are also very easy to work with and I was impressed with their no-fault ticket replacement policy.

I went with my tine because I really wanted heat in cab reduction which has certainly been the case. Good luck!

Yeah, they were very helpful and not pushy at all on the phone unlike all the other shops I had talked too. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Can't wait to have it done.

Gas question. I just started a new job working on a ranch and they offered me free gas for the beast. But it's 85. I've religiously filled her with 87 and up only. Do I take the free gas or stick with the 100 dollar fill ups?

I'm happy to report my new Lunar Rock Crewmax ownership.

Question for the masses; on my way home from the dealership, the TPMS warning light came on. Has this happened to anybody's new ride? I can't imagine this wouldn't be checked as some kind of production checklist so it has me thinking. Truck had 8 miles on it.

Happened to me on my 4runner pro. One of the tires is just low enough for it to come on. Yes I agree you would think it would be checked.

Funny thing is, none of them are registering a wheel pressure.

On my 20 4Runner, I can register different TPMS via the dash. Is that doable on the 21 Tundra??

Looking at my valve stems, they look like standard rubber stems. Can someone please post a pic of your wheel stem on the Pro BBS wheels?

    Here is mine:

    79424E7A-0BC1-4CB6-8440-38893444A924.jpg

    WTF?!

EDIT/UPDATE: apparently the TPMS sensors were revised in 21 so they look like plain rubber valve stems. I took the truck back to the dealer and they re-mapped the sensors. I also looked at another Tundra and saw the same looking valve stems. They look cheap now =\

Mention your truck is spec'd for >=87 and ask for a raise :) in lieu of free gas.

It should show the tire pressure on your dash. You need to scroll thru the dash to bring it up. You are saying it’s now showing anything?

Maybe try the free gas with an octane booster?
