General question for you all. How is the JBL sound system on the Pro's? I've heard negative things from a few people but what is the consensus? I wouldn't put myself into the realm of an audiophile, but I do like a good sound system. Has anyone upgraded theirs or d you think it does well enough? Thanks!

I’m not overly impressed, but I also didn’t walk in expecting a lot. Your source will have an impact - CarPlay vs Bluetooth vs XM vs FM vs AM will all have different “levels” of default volume and quality. I’ve tweaked the very limited amount of settings to where I am satisfied with it. I don’t necessarily think I paid “extra” for it compared to anything else, and I may look at replacing part or all of it at some point in the future, but the reality is I’m not spending most of my time driving concentrating on listening to the nuances of the music. It’s background noise to the soundtrack of my life. If my wife and kids are in the truck, there’s a good chance the music is turned down because we are talking. And if I’m alone, there’s a good chance I just have it cranked loud enough to scare anyone that looks at me from the other lane because I’m singing along completely out of key and oblivious anyway.

I guess my point is that we’re all different. I didn’t but the truck expecting “reference level audio” or anything close to that. A couple Sonos One speakers at the house and a pair of airpod pro’s is the extent of my audio gear, so the factory system works fine for my needs.

Hey SnowThundah, plan on having 3000 for a good system if you are into your music. It won’t be my first time I dropped that.

Thanks guys, I was sorta afraid, yet expecting this kind of response. I will prob end up replacing the system then, probably not within the year, but eventually. :rockband: = :spending:

I was gone for 3 days and some much happened in this thread. :goingcrazy::goingcrazy::goingcrazy: Anyways...

    I got 3 things:

    1. Congrats to all new owners.

    2. What is the consensus on debagging LR?

    3. Is the paint on this truck $hit from the factory or does is scratch when you breath on it? I washed my truck yesterday, just in time for today's rain, and it seems like there is a bunch of random scratches in it. The car was not washed by the dealer, and I am very confident in my scratch-free car washing abilities. I'm just shocked that this paint scratches so easily. :eek2:

Can’t answer #3 - I don’t wash very often because of the weather. I do have some scratches from use and that just makes it my truck now. I’ma little different that way I guess.

as for debadging - I’m definitely in the “naked” crowd. Badges just make it a mess

I'm conflicted. I pretty much always debadge my vehicles to some degree, but I like the black bits spread out over the truck to break up the giant LR panels. I need to stare at the truck more and think. Pretty sure the "TUNDRA" and "4x4" are coming off, but not certain about the "iFORCE" badge.

I started with just the tundra and 4x4…and made it overnight before deciding the iforce needed to go too.

I debadge my Tacoma when I had it. My 4runner Pro I had 2 of them I did not. I like how the tundra Pro is. The only badge I think they should have kept off it is the 4 x 4 on the tailgate. Even the owner and the guys at the tire place this week liked how it just had a little black accents to set off the LunaRock and just the imprint on the bed and tailgate with the names.

As promised, more pics after her detail.

Xpel on the front (bumper, fenders, full hood, mirrors, plus rocker panels) then a polish and ceramic coat on the whole thing. 16ED1B10-00BB-4983-85C8-B2A0BC714522.jpg

Looks fantastic! Mine gets the Xpel treatment (PPF and tint) the week of the 17th then ceramic hopefully the week after. Ready for all that to be done so I can stop worrying about little nicks in the front end and before the miserable FL summer sun shows up.

Hey dude, I’m going to hold off for now but when I get a chance going to visit my audio guy. I have a place local know the owner and installer. They have done a lot of my installs and never any issues. He has been in the business over 20 years and they know what works. They just don’t do custom subwoofer boxes so I will probably get it from tech12volts. And probably get everything else from them. The last thing I did I had them add a power subwoofer to my C7 corvette that was all it needed. I don’t want to change the headunit if I don’t need to. But I want to go over a few things before I decide which way I will go. I will let you know when I talk things over with him.

Overwhelming consensus on this forum is to call James at tech12volt and tell him what you’re trying to accomplish and what your budget looks like and he can set you up with something you’ll be happy with. If I ever do upgrade, that’s likely the route I’ll go.

    Yep...:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Both... I know , I know, I know,.................. I am kinda anal about this,,,(OK Anal) But the big reason / truth is I would like to lift the truck about 2".... but really like the way the truck rides right now and don't want to do something and regret it. ( I think all of us have this problem... what's ya gonna do?) . I Don't want to hear tires humming / vibrating going down the road anymore. (had enough on the last one)

So.....with that said, the truck will be lifted / stripped of some badges (at some point ) 1" or 2" lift (?).... it will get done, guessing when i pull the trigger on a lift size this will be the determining factor on the tire size.................:fingerscrossed:

"Diamond Back" is due in in 2 weeks.... Working on the new shifter handle now, fishing rod racks (copy cat from another thread from the forum)

But the wife thinks i am just going overboard ..... Console storage divider / Black "Tundra" letters for the tail gate and Diamond Back cover. :monocle: Starting to question my manhood guy's.......... some pic's coming soon
