you're the man with this stuff!...I briefly considered doing this, but after adding the CBI and winch the front end grew on me...and I'm most likely gonna color match the lower grille section anyway, time will tell

 

Yeah - color matching that lower section in some way is definitely a win

 

Haven't check this thread in a while. Nice to see some 3rd gens joining.

Also, I haven't seen any LR 2.5 gens in person for months up until this weekend. I got to see one in Reno/Carson City pulling a tailer up 395 as I was driving down.

I've been enjoying driving my truck and got some stuff planned for it- I ended up with 3 sets of Volk Te37s because ever since I bought my truck I wanted a bronze set.



I got them installed and not really liking it the bronze on my truck. I'm super bummed.



I will be going back to a black set. I also have a SOS Performance brake kit coming and looking for a TRD supercharger. If any one has any leads on one, let me know.

I think I'm ready to sell my LR with matching bed cap. I've really fallen in love with the orange TRD Pro I saw the other day. Is this the best spot to start shopping my beloved beauty?

 

Don't do it man! I really like the Solar Octone color on the 3rd gen pros but I like my LR 2nd gen too much. I'll get a 3rd gen pro only if I can afford to keep the 2nd gen too.

As far as selling, I'd get a quote from a dealer, then post it on Facebook/Offer up. I've always done this with my previous trucks and it's worked out great. I went in for service about 2 months ago and they offered to buy my truck for $64k in Socal.

I honestly think our version of the Pro in LR will be worth more than any other down the road due to the limited number of them produced during a Covid year and chip shortages etc…

I can definitely see this. Second Gen Toyota pickups are a good example. 1985 was the last year with solid front axle (first year with EFI) and they bring in more money than almost any other year. I can see the last year of the V8 being the same.

 

I have mine up for sale on here. When I last looked within 500 miles auto trader their were no LunaRock except one privately with over 30,000 miles on it.

 

Mine had 31K with an awesome ARE color matched shell and Valhalla powder coated red cat covers! I am really appreciating these comments. My hmmmmmmm and pause functions have been enabled.

I love it. Its comfortable, easy to drive and plenty of power.

This truck feels more nimble - more sporty and is more powerful. Put it in sport mode and it rips off the line.
The turning radius blows but so do most trucks - I think we got spoiled with the 2.5 gen which had a generous turning radius.
I've disabled the fake v8 sound but sometimes think about turning it back on.
The gas mileage is the same the 2.5 gen.
Lots of rubberneckers - same as when lunar rock was new.
Infotainment screen and console layout is awesome.
Panoramic sunroof is nice

Did my first oil change at 5k and no issues so far. Will be putting new (bigger) tires on it before winter.

 

God I love this truck...found some roads less traveled today...beautiful scenery

 

I purchased the Solar Octane today. Gotta go pick it up in another state. Now who to sell the LR to? Time will tell.

Hey Jeremy, Going back to the 4runner Pro. It was a hard decision but I don’t need a full size truck to drive. But comparing the Tacoma and 4Runner you know who won. Waiting on my SO Pro.

 

Best of luck, they look sweet. I was looking at the 4Runner before I got my SO Tundra and never actually got to drive one. I'm curious what the ride is like and how comfortable you feel in it on the road.

 

It will be my 3rd 4runner Pro. I don’t want any new redesign with the 4runner. I would rather wait till it out a couple of years. I like how it rides and me being short the seats fit me so much better in the 4runner. Also I am making the move to buy it now because I plan on retiring next year. Just have not decided if I will go in January or March. Thanks Jeremy!!

Everytime I'm in my wife's 4runner, it makes the Tundra felt like it was put together on a Friday afternoon right before long weekend.

Spooky lol, but I seriously wanna go 37s.
