Mine will definitely go up now. Decided to sell my 22 Camry. Really don’t need 4 vehicles. So my 8000 miles on my Pro now and driving 7 days a week to work. The nice thing only going to be working for another year and then retiring.

Happy to hear you’re keeping your Tundra

mine hit a year old last month and I have a whopping 7200 miles on it - trying to keep them miles low so I can pull a TT around when I finally retire (3yrs and counting)

Scored a tonneau cover from my buddy that sold his 21 TRD PRO LR for a 22 1794. He already regrets it!

I would suggest taking a look at the frame behind the rear wheels. I've seen a number of bent frames even from light rear ending, myself included. The hitch is mounted to the frame and can end up transferring the force from the hitch to the frame. It usually results in a slight hump on the lower part of the C-channel of the frame.

Good point. From what I understand, it’s the same sort of thing that can happen with those big ranch hand bumpers. It is so rigidly mounted to the frame, it becomes an extension of it. No crumple zones to rapidly dissipate energy like the stock front bumper.

My truck had serious damage but the frame bend could have been missed if the damage to the body looked more minor.

Well, that didn’t go as planned, wanted to match the OEM skid. Should have just gone black, I’ll repaint them with a rattle can whenever.

Did a quick test with the 6X3 color match to lunar rock. Looks pretty good, thinking I’ll try one of the grab handles tonight on the rack.

I had a guy swing around when my wife and I went to target and he came and parked by us. Him, his wife, and kid. It was pouring rain seconds after this. But I noticed he pointed at it then came and parked. Not 100% sure what was up, I turned back and took a pic of his truck (never know if someone's gonna try to steal cats....even with plates on). When my wife and I finished (hour and a half later! Damn you target!) we finished loading up and got in the truck. The same guy pushed his cart in front of their vehicle and stopped me and asked me to roll the window down. Wife was skeptical, but I already had an idea. He complimented me on the truck/suv and said how good it looked, the color looked, and asked about the year. Quick exchange of words and we were on our way. Wife asked if this is normal for me and I realized it actually kinda was lol. Between my last lifted tundra and now the lunar sequoia, I'm kinda used to people inquiring about them and compliments on the paint colors. :notsure::burp:

I just told my wife this weekend that this is the first vehicle I've ever owned that I get compliments on from strangers all the time. Just like this story, it happens in store parking lots all the time. I thought my MGM Taco was pretty cool, but the lunar rock really grabs people's attention.

How do you like that rack? Does it install in the T-slot on bed cover rails? I was looking for something like that to carry two kayaks.

The rack is great. The Yakima Overhaul HD Rack fits either on the truck without a T-slot system or with one. I have the Retrax bed cover and I had to buy an additional foot that accommodates a T slot, otherwise, they come ready to install on the side of the bed. I think a T-slotted bed cover is the only way to get this rack to accommodate a bed cover. Overall, I'm really happy with them. It is a crazy solid rack. A bit cumbersome to change the height, but I have it dialed in now that they are just high enough that the raft sits maybe a 1/2" above the shark fin antenna, so I no longer need to adjust it. Yakima makes a few accessories to go with it too, so there are a lot of options to play with. It would easily accommodate 2 or more kayaks if you are looking to keep your bed clear like I was. I have the largest crossbar you can get too.
