tried out the chemical guys hydro shield rubber etc ceramic coating/shine on the tires. I think it came out good, made the tire blacker for sure, but not overly shiny like most dressings or shines, it’s almost a matte finish but enhances the tire. We will see how long it lasts if it was worth it or not, but $20 for a bottle that I used less then 10% on isn’t bad to begin with.

How’s the LR paint with chips, scratches, swirl marks, light dents, etc? Black shows all. Just curious for future.

Hides imperfections pretty well. I was surprised when I went about 4 weeks without a wash because of weather and temps. I'm happy with it for that aspect too....a nice lil bonus

Not sure yet, suppose to be like any other ceramic coating though and help bead up water, and helps dust, and other things from sticking to it, and or easier to get off.

Same here. We live in a small town with a population of 2k. There are two LR tundra's and I have people waving to me all the time I don't know. He actually just lives down the street from me and golfs at the course I work at.

    4 weeks?
I’m closer to 4 months. :anonymous:

My front passenger door handle I noticed the other day had two small chips out of it (painted aftermarket by Sparks) and you can see the white underneath. I’ll have to repair those. Other than that, it hides dirt well, but I have no idea about swirls and other stuff because most of the time mine’s covered in PNW road grime and pin stripes.

I beat my truck up pretty good and barely wash it, always through a car wash. I've had it for 1.5 years and 30k and I'd say it's doing pretty good. One door ding, 3 window chips, some scratches and rock chips, but I'm pleasantly surprised with how it's looking. I've got a full detail scheduled in a few days, inside and out and I'm looking super forward to getting it dirty again

The ability for this color to still look good dirty was one of the reasons I bought it.

True. Just looks more gray when it’s dirty…

That said I’m taking it to the do it yourself car wash tomorrow because I like it when it looks more green!!

When we get more than 48 hours in the forecast without rain, I’ll get it cleaned up. We’re turning the page on winter so it won’t be too long now

I need to to this to mine. As soon as I kill the warranty I will. Already at 34k. Might as well go ahead and buy. I need to find a good installer.

I don’t think this affects the warranty as it’s pretty much just a spacer lift…

Most dealerships will say you altered the suspension/shock since it’s not oem would be an easy out for them not to replace.

Its what’s keeping me going back and forth on if I want to do the westcott lift and some shackles, I lose the front and rear shocks, and leaf springs warranty. Wescott is like 15-20mins away from me, I’d love just to drop it off for a install.

I normally wouldn’t care about the warranty, but at this point my driving distance makes it so that whatever warranty I have will max out the years before the mileage, so kind of nice to have that long term option of not paying many if any repair bills over the next 7 years or so (if I buy one of the extended warranties).

Here's a hypothetical question for y'all. If you needed to break a window to get in your truck, what's the best option? I've got a double cab without that fancy back slider window, so I'm kinda thinking that center piece instead of a back door window, but I've never had to think about this before.

The prompting for this thought was I was out backpacking in the Utah desert and ran into a family in pretty bad shape canyoneering and they ended up having to unexpectedly spend the night out due to hypothermia and getting a little lost. They were trying to get back to their dogs locked in the truck. As I was hiking out the next day and thinking I was going to have to start a rescue if they weren't back yet, I was debating how I'd break into their f150 to get the dogs out (this was going on 24+ hours). I carry an axe for firewood, so my plan was to smash a window that way and just deal with the consequences.

Anyone with any better advice? I think it's a real probability that one day I'll lose my keys and have to break in for the hidden spares, but with a topper I'd have to break into that first, then through the back window. What's gonna cost me the least money? o_O and realistically I'll be in the middle of nowhere out of cell range and solo, so self rescue is necessary. Anyone with some experience with breaking car windows in a non- illegal way?
