For me it started back in the mid 80s with my uncles on dad side we'd take trips to beach and camp out for the weekend and those trucks were those lil single cab yotas gliding over the loose sand never getting stuck cuz they so lite and was in back out in the bed loving every minute of it uncles had these similar onesScreenshot_2016-09-29-21-05-21.jpg Screenshot_2016-09-29-21-04-51.jpg Screenshot_2016-09-29-21-10-34.jpg and my first one was an 89 white with white camper manuel locking hubs 5spd believe was a v6 3.0 or 3.4 can't rememberScreenshot_2016-09-29-21-03-25.jpg and my dad drove a 88 red land cruiser Screenshot_2016-09-29-21-07-30.jpg drove my 89 til 1994 when T100 came out now got my '14 CM and my '97 T100

I freaking loved my first Yota. It was a stripped down and gutless, but that thing was all truck. I had to get rid of it because I couldnt take my new born daughter at the time anywhere safely because it was a single cab. I vowed that I would get another Toyota when I sold it, and after 8 years and multiple promotions, I was finally able to afford my Tundra.

I was a Ford truck guy all my life. Started out with a used 80's vintage V6 Ranger extra cab 4x4... then got a new 1993 F150 4x4 with the 5.0 V8. Drove that for almost 13 years without a major issue. Then bought a new 2005 F150 2wd 5.4 V8... Then one cold foggy Saturday morning in January of 2014 my wife says to me "Why don't you test drive some trucks today? Go drive the Tundras." Who was I to argue with my wife? Tested the Fords ( horrible interior), Tested the Chevy ( a little better, but ew...) FELL IN LOVE WITH THE TUNDRA!!! By far a superior product. From the interior and how the dash / controls are set up, to the ride quality, and OH THAT LOVELY 5.7 V8!!!! If you had told me 10 years ago I'd be a Toyota truck owner, I would have called you a liar. I'm embarrassed to say how much I love driving my Tundra.... still in the honeymoon phase!

    Lifelong customer here!

Dad has always driven Chevy/GM and I can't count the number of times I've had to come pick him up off the side of the road or from an auto shop. Number of times he has had to pick me up? Zero.

Always loved Toyotas, but didn't have a pickup till I bought my Tundra. First car was a Honda Accord 4 banger, then I got a Toyota Camry XLE when I was 17. Ran that for 5 years and 65,000 miles until I got tired of driving a car and bought my Tundra. My mom and dad are big Yota fans, dad's always had a work truck but mom's last three cars have been Toyotas.

The car I learned to drive in, and arguably my first car (was my dad's, but I drove it all the time. My actual first owned car was a former cop car 1979 Ford LTD), was a 1985 Toyota Tercel SR5 Wagon, complete with brown flannel pattern upholstery. We took this car EVERYWHERE and I mean everywhere. We crawled up wet creek beds for miles, up steep hills and through mud, etc etc.

When I was 14 my dad started teaching me to drive - when we were out in the middle of nowhere I'd take the wheel and my mom would take the back and I'd cruise around on the back roads or through the desert. My parents got so confident that by 15 I would drive my mom around town to run her errands. Once I was driving with my mom in the passenger seat and we came to a stop sign headed up a hill on a gravel road. I was pretty confident in my driving skills but the police cruiser behind me had me a little nervous. When it came my time to go I gassed it a little harder than I should have and let off the clutch, spraying gravel all over the cop car. He pulled us over, yelled at us a bit when he realized I had no license and no learner's permit (I was just barely 15 at the time), but let us go with a warning - after I switched seats with my mom, of course.

Anyway, we finally laid that car to rest with nearly 500k miles on it. I remember dropping the front axle to replace the trans at around 350k miles with my pops.

I ended up buying another one that was on it's last legs for like $250 in Minnesota in 2001 - I planned on fixing it up but ended up moving back home and selling it. I wish I had pics of our first one - but it was just like this, with roof racks and everything:

    upload_2016-9-30_9-50-9.jpg

^^ That thing is Moab ready as it stands.

I've had other Toyota cars, and my job currently provides a 2011 Prius, but have always had Chevy trucks and SUVs as personal cars until my 2016 SR5 CM - We're currently shopping for a new vehicle for my wife, almost certainly going to be a 4runner, but we're considering a new Tacoma too.

I'm still a fan of GM trucks and SUVs and kind of miss my trust ole `Burb too. The best thing about the `Burb was that it was fugly while still being nice, and I had no reservations about running it hard in the desert - I'm not quite there with the new truck yet.

My Toyota List is long and goes like this,

1985 Tercel SR5 Wagon Leather Neck edition (like Backslider's)
1986 Celica GTS Sold with 210,000
1992 MR2 Turbo (Should not have sold)
1999 Tacoma TRD V6 4wd (Miss this truck so much)
2010 Toyota Tacoma ( Family out grew)
    2007 Tundra
    2010 Sequoia
    2016 Tundra

Loved all of them, and the only one I had a problem with was the 2010 Sequoia. It had a rattle at highway speeds that two different dealers couldn't fix. Toyota took care of me though and gave me GREAT deal on my 2016!

I forgot about my Toyota I had in Japan! This, my friends, is a 2003 Will Cypha made by Toyota and only sold it in Japan for 3 years. For a 2003, it had groundbreaking features such as voice controlled navigation (even though it only recognized Japanese), a touch screen (once again, only Japanese), and an SD card reader for listening to Mp3's. I tested fate daily on my commute home dealing with kamikaze drivers who have never touched a turn signal in their entire lives. It got me through numerous typhoons and floods and never gave me a single mechanical issue.

My parents bought a 91 4runner back when it was new, then my mom bought a 95 camry, I got the 4runner when my dad bought his 2000 Tundra, mom later updated to a 02 Camry and now an 07 Lexus RX, dad has a newer 4runner now along with his Tundra. My wife has had 2 Celica's a 4runner and now a Lexus NX. I bought an 05 Tacoma when I graduated from college, just traded it in on my 16 Tundra so we are a pretty loyal family. My sister has gone through a jeep Cherokee and now a Ford Explorer, her husband has had an F150 and a Malibu, now in a Ram, they've had several issues with all of them except the Ram as it is only a month old. They haven't learned yet even when their resale is half of mine when they are the same age.

Never owned anything but a Toyota. My family has always had at least one Toyota in driveway and the same will be at my house. Can't beat the reliability, style, resale and just all around amazingness.

    First car, 1987 Toyota 4runner
    [IMG]

That got totaled (not my fault), next came the supercharged 1999 Tacoma that was fun, but not practical for college.

Sold that to get a 1999 Toyota Corolla (a little too practical and meh, but drove it for 4 years).

Finally my 1995 4runner, was an auto and 3.slow. It was a good truck, but had my daughter and needed something a bit more travel friendly.

Got a 2000 4runner and proceeded to mod and wheel that one for the next 5 years. Loved it, but got tired of DD my wheeler and with a second kid on the way I needed more room.

Thus came the 2006 Tundra. Absolutely love this truck and fits the family great. So nice to have the bed.
