Love them not really sure about the comparison on the ATs. I’ve ran BFG Mud terrains for quite a few years they are very comparable to them they do well on wet and snow covered roads and in the mud they clean well. I rotate them every 5000 miles and are wearing very well. I would definitely buy them again.

Traction is very good in rain, snow and the mud. The noise is louder than an all terrain tire but not as loud as a more open lug tire.

I still have front and rear mudflats on. Stock suspension at the moment, still waiting on my 6112's from Wheelers. I took a heat gun and massaged the front mudflaps so they don't rub. I have not noticed any more stones hitting the body.

I attempted to add the 1.25” spacers for the look at install and there was going to be more rubbing in the fender, and without them there is no rubbing. So I stuck with no spacers. And it also makes sense to keep the tires inside the wheel well, decrease wear and tear, and remove a potential failure point. so I returned mine.

To my defense, that is at the end of the parking lot and I like to park it behind that island to protect folks who treat the lot like a race track.

Yes!!! The 4.2 Diesel = AKA the donkey (also comes in 4.2 TD).

Friend's dad in South Africa has taken his through Africa - top to bottom and back more times than I can count! He must have around 1mil KM's on that thing (or more?) and still going strong. It's also his daily driver.
The tires he runs? BFG KO/2's have always on that vehicle, and pizza cutters at that. In Africa, we like to call them Marie Biscuits! Overlanders swear by them!

I had them KO2's in Marie biscuit size on my 80 Series Diesel in South Africa when I lived there, and definitely put them through fair bit of punishment.

Have the KO2's on order right now for my Tundra, also reducing size from 35x12.5 tire on a 20x10 wheel to 285x70x17 on 17x8.5 wheel. Will post pics once fitted.

That’s awesome! It is an amazing vehicle for sure and like I said, if I could import these into the states I would be a billionaire. Every farm owner would have them. Guys like us. Companies with fleet trucks would have them. But it won’t happen. At least you know about the ZA Marie Biscuits.

The feeling of a 20 going down to a 17 is going to be amazing. And the lighter tire is so much nicer.

So some pleasant surprise on the MPG front.

My truck just had the first oil change at 8k km/5k miles, my hand calculating in last 3 tanks average 15.8 to 16.2mpg, for comparison to my Rebel which was getting 14mpg, with same driving pattern with actually more trail use on the Tundra, same tire size.

The only modification right now is S&B intake.

Thanks! I'm looking for a taller tire than the stock ones on my TRD OR. To be sure, yours are 275/70r18s?

This gives me a reason to post another photo of the truck... I had pizza cutters on my 4Runner (255/80/17) and absolutely loved them, not only the decreased weight compared to 285/70/17s, but aired down they were amazing through everything.

For the Tundra it was a no brainer for me to go 285/75/18 vs 35x12.5 and I definitely feel like I made the right choice. The tire doesn't look nearly as skinny as the 255/80s on the 4Runner, and the MPG hit was fairly minimal (my only full tank since they went on included 315 miles home from the shop, hauling the full stock suspension and all 5 stock wheels/tires in the bed)

I'm going to be that guy....

I'm getting the Westcott 1.5" front lift installed on my TRD Pro (3.5" total). I'm hoping I can get the 285/75/18s to fit on stock Pro wheels without UCAs or trimming. Think it can be done or do I need to stick w/ 275/70/18? I'm seeing lots of people with 285/75/18s but with other suspension mods so I'm looking for a little more clarity.

285-75 should fit fine. I have the trd pro fox shock suspension without any other modification. Also they are on the pro bbs wheels as well. Yes, there is slight rubbing at full lock but everything else is fine. No uca. No spacers. Rides great on those sizes. Just a slight power loss.

Out of curiosity, where are you rubbing? Fender liner or the UCA? Fender Liner should be an easy fix with a heat gun.

Fender liner. Yeah it is a easy fix. Just haven’t gotten around it. No uca. Front is not a problem. Just the back. This is for the Goodyear duratracs.

I have 285 75r18 on my pro, stock suspension and wheels, no rubbing at full flex.

Some have minor rub on the plastics towards the firewall, but its very minor.
