Just finished installing my smoked Recons and took them out for a spin. The plan was to then install my Putco Blade but these bad boys were waiting for me! 20190808_125132.jpg

Ugh! Look great, really great but will not allow sequential signal. The online direction for OEM DRL shows different wiring than I have. Regular signals work and look great but I want sequential! More to come...

Post a pic of the wiring

From what I see if you just swap 2 plugs around and that enables sequential. Mine come that way

Will do but this was a "discreet" delivery and wifey is home. So it'll have to be tomorrow. I have a 2016 1794. As per the online directions, since I have OEM DRLs, I'm supposed to use the included harnesses. The problem is, I do not have the "multi pin connector" on the vehicle they refer to. Perhaps that's only on later models??? Thoughts? I plan on heading out tonight to check the light output.

Update: the lights are wicked bright! But, I need to adjust them s bit later tonight. I sent an email to support last night and got a response pretty quickly. To get the sequential I needed to disconnect two wires. Here comes the next issue. With them disconnected I get hyper partial sequential flash. It seems that because I also have the Recon led tails which I just installed, they are conflicting with one another. Waiting on a possible solution response...

I confirmed that the Recon taillights are the culprit causing the sequential signals hyper flash. I installed the stock incandescent and viola the sequential work perfectly. It's a thing of beauty. Support at Xenon said that there is not enough resistance having leds in both the headlight and taillight signals. It was suggested I add a 7.5 ohm resistor to the signal wires in the Recon. However, I am not sure how to go about that. I will reach out o Recon to collect their input. Any thoughts from members savvy in this area???

I can't talk you through this, but this is a super simple mod and there are several threads out there involving the led resistors

Thanks. I've already been searching. However, the thing that troubles me is that the Recons already have built in resistors. This is where my confusion begins. I worry about causing an issue. Rolling up my sleeves...

Just finished adjusting them and took them out for a spin. Sorry for the night shot glare here. Believe me they do not throw off any of the glare you see in the pic! They are clean, tough looking and should be what the truck came with off the assembly line. Below I've included some close shots on the garage door with lows and highs and a couple different night road shots with lows and highs (all with fogs off). All in all, these are AMAZING compared to my OEM with LED bulbs. There is NO comparison! The DRLs are extremely bright and the switchback signals match the output. Though I am bummed about not having a remedy (yet) for the sequential, the only negative, which is not a result of the product, is that I will need to adjust to having such a clean cutoff with the low beams. It's a different driving experience.front shot with fogs.jpg

This is after adjustments at about 20 ft W/O fogs

After hitting my back roads I headed into town a drove around in traffic and didn"t receive one flash from oncoming traffic. Cant say that about my previous setup!

I ran into a problem with some headlights I bought. They were great forward but scary AF when cornering. There was no output to the sides. Yours looks great forward, how is it cornering?

That's going to be a little bit of the adjustment I was referring to. It is darker to the sides but with the fogs I already had (Morimotos as well), they throw light into the ditches quite a bit. Still different and will take some getting used to.

Thanks. I run Baja fogs (wide cornering) and when I shut them off with the other headlights I seriously thought I was gonna crash on the mountain road I live on.

After I did my retrofit I had to get used to the cut off. It's weird at first.

Some Baja Designs Squadron Sport's with a wide cornering lens would balance that out nice! That's what I ended up doing, they make a huge difference (when I can use them).

This is a screenshot from another thread I made that shows my HID retrofit low beams without then with the @Baja Designs Squadron Sport's with Wide Cornering lens. They really balance things out. I was stopped when I took the picture, which is evident by the weeds along the road, so you can see how much you can miss with low beams.

    Screenshot_20190809-231153.jpg

I don't use mine with oncoming traffic, but their SAE approved fogs may do the trick too, I just don't have any experience with them.

Based on only my personal experience...hell yeah! They are absolutely amazing in light output in both low and high. So, as for function, they are spot on. Additionally, the switchback drl to amber turn signal is easily seen. I walked away from my truck for quite a ways and looked back to see if I could see the signal over the lights at night...yup! More function. Besides, did I mention just how bad ass these look on my mica bronze baby...man!

If I'm being fair, I have not had any personal experience with the new leds on the latest models. From what I understand, the light output is good but can only go on other posts. But, they offer no switch back and seem to still "hide" the front signal when looking at them at night. I do think some folks have added amber led bulbs though. I have been waiting on these vs buying the newest oem lights.

I think the true test of being worth it will be longevity.
