Has anyone lost 10th gear. It seems that I only have 1-8 but i can get it to go into 9th, but if allow it to go to 10th, it won’t and the rpm’s are over 2k at 70mph. If I shift down from 10th, which its not in, it skips 9th and goes straight to 8th with no change in rpm.
    Thanks in advance.

Why are you trying to force 10th ?

You can get 10th but it’s not easy. I think it hits at like 75 or 80 mph. You need like no headwind, completely flat or even slightly downhill road, and gentle throttle. I think it’s like a 150 rpm difference between 10th and 9th at 70 mph.

I’m not, I just shifted manually to see if I allowed 10th, would it go, even at 85mph in either mode, it never shifted.

I actually get 10th all the time, I also get anywhere from 16.5-17.5 mpg, yesterday it dropped to 14.3 due to the lack of 9 & 10 gears.

This sounds like a perfect problem for the dealership to diagnose….or at least get documented.

Any chance you are in sport mode? I think that mode impacts top gear shift points and may even limit top gear to 8 or 9.

No sir, I tried that as well. I’m going to go drive it this morning with one of my big scanners and see what it’s doing. I’ve not tried out my newest scanner, what better time I suppose.

Did you ever sort this out?

I just posted a new thread on my 2023 Capstone with this same deal.

For mine at least, it will not shift into 10th gear until at least 80mph. And even at that, it took going 81 or 82, then letting off the throttle to cause upshift. It will actually take quite a bit of throttle before it downshifted to 9th. But regardless of throttle, seems like it would downshift to 9th at around 72 or 73.

10th gear seems to be only for the Autobahn cruising. Seems odd to me with all the low end torque this power train makes.
