If it comes down to it and the only thing you don't like is the small gas tank, there are 46 gallon aftermarket tanks that bolt in. Transferflow and LRA each make one, maybe more.

This is a great topic. Exactly what I am going through myself, trying to decide which one to lean towards. I also want a double cab 5.7 4x4.
    Thanks for posting NY Tundra!
I'm watching the responses, as I don't really know the pros/cons of the various model years. Sounds like 2017-2021 is where I need to be - interested in hearing and learning more about these model years.

Good catch...i didnt see that. I saw the aftermarket rear bumper and the less than ideal front light bar, but missed the mismatched wheels.

That last pic is probably older with chrome wheels but it seems both sides have the black now. Cool truck. SR5 with TRD bits is even more unique. Interesting rear bumper that I don’t think is OEM.

When is it recommended to use this? Any time you tow? Or only if something heavy?
Do all gen 2.5 have this option? thx

Probably so. Didn't have the bed stickers on with the shot of the alloys. The black wheels look like steelies. Wonder if it is a TRD.

There has been a lot of discussion on gas pedal responsiveness in various generations of Tundras. Everyone seems to have a different take on using Tow/Haul, pedal controllers, etc. to change how the truck responds. In the 2021 with Tow/Haul off, the truck is pretty mild mannered, and smooth take offs are possible, but it will boogie if pressed. With Tow/Haul engaged, the truck is punchy right off idle, and generally more responsive to inputs, and seems to hold gears longer, and downshifts harder when slowing. I've used it for towing, and just playing around, and honestly to me its more of a fun buttton.

I believe its in all 2nd gens.

Was wondering the same, thought the TRD packages came with the LED headlights rather than the halogens pictured but i’m usually wrong so who tf knows.

The pictures of that truck are from different times of the year. Look at the trees in the background.

Summertime it had offroad wheels, no bed stickers, no lightbar...maybe stock rear bumper? Probably not a TRD packaged truck.

Maybe it's just me, but whenever I see ads like this one, with its "TDR shifter" and nonsensical phrases like "Toner be Cover look at bumper", it just makes me wonder if the owner ever changed the engine oil.

Well, today I bought the car. Decided to go with a brand new 2022 F-250 XLT 4x4 with the 7.3l V8 with the SuperCab (this is the mini door like my access cab Tacoma). I hate Ford as a brand and wish I could have bought the new Tundra but I can’t get myself to purchase a V6. Tje prices on used Tundras were similar to a brand new f250 so that was out of the question. The f250 is a decent truck for now, I’ll probably use it once every two weeks or so (don’t have the need for a pickup daily at the moment). I got the truck for 58k cash out the door and they’ll add free spray bed liner on Monday. This truck is huge compared to my Tacoma when they’re parked next to each other. Thanks everyone who chimed in here….hell I got some encouragement from you guys when you mentioned the super duty.

the f250 badges are on back order LOL. There is a shortage of them so my truck does not have one but it’s on order and they’ll install it when it comes in.

if I needed a 3/4 ton, I’d go this direction too. Thankfully, mine suits my needs. Good luck!

Seems the decision to go to Ford was made at the onset of the OP's post.

Congrats on the great looking truck! It should be a great fit for what you are looking to tow and I’ve heard pretty good things about the 7.3’s reliability.

Congrats on the F250. My neighbour has one as a work truck and it has treated him well. He runs his own contracting business and towes with it quite often. Says he doesn’t even feel the trailer half the time it’s got so much power. My 14’ SR5 has plenty of power for what I intend on using it for. I was after a 6.5’ box and was glad I found one.
