Looking for Tundra Cricut Template .SVGs

Hey guys, not sure if this is the right spot to post this as I was going to post this to the marketplace, but I am actually looking for this and not selling it.

However, I am checking with my fellow Tundra enthusiasts to see if anyone has .SVG files for decals for the Tundra. I am specifically looking for the two below, however any and all are welcome. I have seen some pretty cool decals out there for sale, however I would like to make my own on my wife's cricut machine.

I have an alternative for you, if you come up short. I use vectorized graphics all the time for my wood CNC machine.

Among some other options, I use Inkscape to convert images to .SVG.

Thanks man! I havent found any good image converters yet so this will definitely help...I've used photoshop in the past to convert but was more of a PIA than its worth. I will try this on some images I currently have. Thanks!

 

You can Google what you’re looking for and find a clean picture. Then save it to your photos. Open the Cricut app and upload and then edit the picture starting with remove or erase. I do this with all kinds of pictures with good success, including the decal you’re looking for and these flags. Just start saving and trying different images and you’ll start to see what works and Doesn’t.

 

This is how I get my wife to cricut me decals. It seems to work fine if you find the right image. Even on the more technical designs that require a lot of weeding. She made me these Harrop ones…I just had to weed them.

Yeah I do have a good amount of images I like that I will turn into vinyl, my only issue on the ones I show in my original post is getting the measurements right to ensure it fits inside of the Tundra emblems on the tailgate and side of the truck. I don't want to waste too much of my wife's vinyl on testing out the sticker, but maybe that's the best bet. Or I guess I could try to print on regular paper and see how it comes out then go from there. I appreciate the insight from you both on this.

 

I keep scrap pieces of vinyl that was trimmed from projects just for this type of thing. I'll see if I can get a good image and cut some for sizing measurements for you.

Yeah I figured I need to go out and just get a roll of vinyl for myself to mess around with. Just choosing the color is the difficult part! I have a black truck so all of the cool black vinyls I've seen will need to be white....although I am thinking I'll go blue or grey so it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb.

Will do. Does she use alot of vinyl? I usually get it at Michael's when it's 50% off but there are 2 sites online that I have saved that have really low prices for the Oracal vinyl.

 

Thanks again man! And she does, she usually gets it from Amazon or does go to Michael's when she gets some coupons from their site, Target is her big place to get it too when they have sales. Ill have to look into the Oracal vinyl, I have heard of it but dont know much about it!

 

Its a slow morning at work so I just redrew it Attached is an SVG. You'll have to measure the width of the top of the "R" to the end of the "A" on your truck to get the right width for it when you cut it.

 

Oracal is a very high quality vinyl. Here are the sites that I mentioned earlier. Let me know what she thinks.

Dollar tree has vinyl that I use to test cuts and I also keep scraps just like @Tundra234

 

I didn't even think about that, I will try there just to cut and test fit the projects, even if I don't apply it to the truck...it'll stick well on a laptop haha

What outdoor matte black would you recommend? Oracal 641?

 

The one that I use is the matte 651 that I get at Michael's. I looked up the 641.....you will be fine with either one.

 

Any opinions on the 751

 

Looking at it online, it has a stronger adhesive giving it up to an 8 year lifespan.

 

Seems like some people have issues with cutting and working the with 751 since it’s so thin. I think I’ll stick with the 651 I can get at Michael’s

 

I’m sure you have long since gotten your decals done, but I’ve been searching trying to find the vectors or svgs, too, and came across your post. I wanted to reply here to tell you that there’s a really cool permanent vinyl that I found by a company called HTVRONT. I bought some that I am dying to use! It’s color changing. I picked out a purple/pink vinyl for me and my husband wants me to do a red/yellow version for his 4Runner.

 

Thank you, I actually haven't yet found as premade vector/svg and I have burnt through a good amount of dollar store vinyl to get my sizing right. Havent yet printed the final copy as I was waiting for warmer weather again to get it installed. Hope to get back to it here soon and will definitely look into the HTVRONT vinyls!

 

What decal are you trying to create and size?

Edit.....I see them in your original post. I'll look through my files and see what I have.

 

What I do is measure the are and maybe even reference points on the object I plan to install it on as well as the image prior to cutting it. Most of the time, this works.

 

I can get it measured and then reupload an SVG thats set to the right size, or at least provide the overall width/height it should be

So, with the svg I made, seems like 6 5/8" is the right size. I cut out a paper one (seen on my truck for size) and then I made a matte black and matte white one from 3M Vinyl if you want either! I can mail it to you.
