My Dewalt standard drill is about burnt out. I have their impact, which is fantastic but I need a “normal” drill. I don’t use them often, but want one to get the job done and last a while.
Upon an Amazon search, I prefer to stay in the $100’ish range

links and suggestions from the pros?

Can find brushless Dewalt on sale quite often. I would just stick with compatibility, helpful on charging and being able to swap batteries.

Looks like 120ish on Amazon for 20v brushless drill with batteries

How old is the DeWalt impact? If it's the old ni-cad batteries, abandon ship and go with Makita or Milwaukee. If it's the new lithium driver. Just get the DeWalt drill

Truth,if you have Yellow Batteries then I would just stay there but of not I would go Red for sure!
You can just go to any big box hardware store and get a compact 18v in any color for $100 and they are all a lot better than they used to be too.

If you never want your drill to fail, ever.

    https://www.festoolproducts.com/

I've used just about every tool they produce, and there is simply nothing that comes close to their quality and durability. At bit more to purchase, but it will out last 5 other drills. The operation and control are so effortless and powerful. (I have a small 10v handy drill and it out powers my old 18v Milwaukee). As anything I already have breaks, I replace it with Festool, and worry no more.

Warning their tools are very addicting...

Here's a link to my 10v (more than enough power) but small in your hand.

I'm a Rigid guy and love the free battery replacement for life. I've taken advantage of it a few times, years after initial purchase and multiples times for the same drill in one case. No questions asked, they just confirm batteries are dead with a load test.

You just have to make sure you register when you buy it. When the batteries die, take it to an authorized shop (for me, it's a local tool store) and they either order or give you new ones over the counter.

Should be around $100. I got my last one up here for $79 Canadian on a HD Hot Buy

    Team ORANGE!!!

I truly think when you get to the top brands it's a toss up. Last set I bought (impact and rotational) was Rigid. Couldn't beat the warranty on not only the tool, but the batteries as well. Have had no problems. If your batteries from the DeWalt are still good, it may be in your best interest to stay with that brand so that with a new one you could add the same batteries to your collection.

Yeah if you want to keep your batteries the same stick with yellow. Then you can just keep expanding. I’m all red m18 myself and love them. Looking at the radio and grinder currently to add to the group. Yellow are good tools though!
