Given the reliability of our trucks, including the Tacoma and variants, whose the champion of NO PAYMENTS to a bank for a Toyota pickup?

Example: Johnny pays cash and keeps his 2001 Tacoma until 2019, Cindy gets 2002 Tundra free from parents and drove it until 2012, etc

Just curious how durability and financials Interrelate. Time is money! :spending:

Paid off my 08 in 2009 and went without payments until I got my 18. This one is 0% so I won't be paying it off early though. I could've kept the 08 since it didn't have any issues but I wanted the extra space of a CM and 4wd.

Bought my mom's 2002 4runner from her for $2k back in 2010, drove it until the end of 2016 than sold it for $7k and got my 2016 Tundra. Less than $3k to go before its done!

    I paid cash for a 1996 Miata in 2001. I sold it after I was given a 2000 Lexus RX300 in 2009 as a wedding gift. I drove that until 3 weeks ago when I sold it for my 2019 Tundra...finally. :)

Got my 03 GMC new, paid off in 4 and I got the Tundra in 18 so...11 years I went without a payment but the last two years I put as much into the upkeep it might as well had been a payment. We paid off the house this year so there's that. :muscleflexing:

Never had a car payment til I bought my '18. At .9% interest it was hard to drop all that cash.

Had a few other trucks but had my '03 for 10 years.

Well, as a 15 and a half year old kid needing transportation my dad bought this motorcycle for me that I used to ride to the hamburger shop ~ my first job.
I had to pay for insurance, gasoline and maintenance and repay the loan as well ~ my first payment was to my dad.

I did time in the military, got out and started a career in the sheet metal working industry. Armed with a job and cash I've almost always bought something out of the used market.
Other than this motorcycle, I've never had a car/truck/motorcycle payment ever again.
Bought a couple of houses in my life and times ~ paid both of them off after owning them 10 years each.
I do still have property taxes, however. I'm not a fan of payments, period.

Sorry, bought my 18 in 2018 so it was 9ish.

I did have another car payment in the middle since I bought a BMW M3 in 2010, but that's not a truck note :anonymous:

I purchased a new 4x4 Tacoma in Cool Steel Metalic in May of 1998 for under 15K, and paid her off in May of 2002. I still have her with 118,000 original miles. Just last week I purchased a new 2019 Platinum Tundra and the first payment will be due in September of 2019.

17 years and 4 months since my last payment. I have been spoiled.
