It’s very similar to simply pushing the tow haul button;)

No sir. Bullydog actually changes fuel curve and timing. Leaning out the fuel curve makes power.

If a tuner is able to be used with or without headers, that tells me they’re not leaning out the fuel curve, which leaves power on the table.

I discovered that bullydog ran lean with long tube headers back in 2013;) Within a couple of days they wrote me a tune with the appropriate fuel curve, it’s called the ‘trail tune’.

BullyDog actually tunes your truck for more power;)

JBA long tube headers with BAMufflers' mids & 7" exhaust, 2019 Pro LED headlights, leveling kit, 20" wheels, retractable tonneau, remote start, blacked out emblems, TRD rear sway bar, all lights replaced with LEDs, lots of other little mods, still working on it...
Looks like it's time to save $ for the Bullydog... (after we get my JBA LT situation finished up).

There are always trade-offs when it comes to making more power from these little 5.7L engines, you mostly trade a lot of your money for minimal gains or a lot more of your money for marginal gains. The true dollar cost per horse power gained is very high, to extremely high.

Hey guys! Brand new member here. I was wondering if anyone has actual sound clips/video of running JBL headers with the intention of it being as close to stock sound as possible- wether that be stock cats or aftermarket (maybe recommendations for best flow/most quiet sound?). I currently have the dual TRD exhaust which sounds nearly perfect in my opinion.

    Thanks!

Hey I am new here but I was entertaining the idea of headers but I want to keep the TRD exaust on my Pro what would be the best options to add a little power and maybe make exaust a little louder?

Long tube headers can be had with or without cats...
is there a real world performance gain if you delete the cats?

I tested thst on the dyno and at the track.

I found e/t didn’t reduce by removing cats. And it didn’t grow by adding them.

I found that your big number on the dyno didn’t grow removing them. Nor did it reduce by removing them.

If we use only one set of cats, yes. Or if we build the mufflers in the catback, then we have infinite control of the sound level.
