Folding back seat mod is 1st and only!
I've been searching high and low for this for awhile now. I've done the folding back seat mod and I'd rather not purchase a locking under-seat storage unit. I have a perfectly good DuHa unit. Just want to be able to secure my goodies. Any info is much appreciated!

Huh? Are you asking how to lock the under seat storage?

Yeah, haven't seen anyone that's done that yet. I would imagine that would not be an easy mod.

Seems easier(i.e. cheaper and less invasive) than a locking bin...

Are you talking about locking the seat bottoms down, or the seat backs?

The goal is to have stored items secured under the back seat. I can either purchase a lockable unit or lock my back seats in the lowered position and use my Du-Ha plastic storage deal. I want it so my tools and such are not accessible during a smash and grab type thug. I would imaging if the seats were locked down then short of stealing the truck and spending a few hours cutting the seat brackets out, anything under the locking seat would be safe and sound.

Locking the seat bottoms down. The only mod I have done thus far was to cut the brackets on the seat backs so I can lower the seats now.

I would just hide your stuff behind the seats. People who smash and grab might look under your seats but probably wouldn't think to look behind the seats. Even if they do, they probably won't know how to fold the seat down.

I'm a little more cynical than you are! If they manage to lift the seats up then the back ones will drop down... I need more of an insurance policy than that.

Haven't spent any time trying to rig something up yet. Was hoping someone smarter than me has done it before. I liked the back seat mod, did that today infact when I was putting on the new seat covers. Got me thinking about trying to be a harder target so to speak.

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
I like the idea. Curious to see what may come up. I'm going to look into this. I know locker down makes a steel lockable box with 2 doors that will replace the plastic box, but I think it's about 1,000$.

I definitely think that would be the way to go if $$$ were no issue. That having been said the Du-Ha plastic deal is bullet proof with the back seat bottoms in the lowered position. That thing was only $175ish...

Ahhh ok. I'll have to take a look tomorrow morning and see if I come up with any ideas. I too have the DuHa unit and really like it!

What is the other back seat mod that you did?
