I have a 2008 toyota Sequoia, I know this is a Tundra form but I have heard they are the same except the body.
So my battery went bad and its been parked for about a month. I went to open it and get some things out but the battery is so dead the key fob won't unlock the doors. The key I have only works for the ignition. Can anyone give me an idea how to pop the hood so i can get a charge on the battery?

This is all you need to unlock the door from the inside very easy takes less than 2 min

I'm curious as to why the key you have only works for the ignition? My ignition key opens the drivers door too. Usually a valet key only opens the door and not the ignition.

Thank you all. I don't know why the key won't work. Piece of **** haha the key was my whole plan before i parked it. There is no key on the back hatch. I think I'm just going to try to hook the latch cable from the grille and pop the latch. I'm hoping i can do it without spending $

I would think a locksmith could stop by and pop the door.
I've heard some cab companies have unlocking tools also. At least thats what my mom has used a few times over the years.

If you know someone who has AAA they can call and have someone come out and pop the door open. The person would have to be there with their AAA membership card.

Maybe take the vin to your local Toyota dealership and see if they can get you a key that works in the door?

Or the good old fashioned wire coat hanger slid in through the window and jiggle it around until you grab the door latch (or the hood latch)
