We knew they were here, so we put up game cameras off and on for the last couple years. Got a crappy pic of what looked like a small mountain lion the first night. Now we finally got a good shot of a rather large SOB! The black trough is close to 2 ft. Tall by over 4 ft. Wide. There is also a five gallon bucket laying down for size comparison. Guess it's time to carry a gun when we're up in the back of our house. This was taken about 100 ft from our deck.MFDC1448.jpg

Wow. That's pretty cool to be that close to wildlife.

Those cats are beautiful and amazing yet scary as hell. They are so sneaky, most of the time you'll never know they are there until they sink their teeth into the back of your neck.

My cat Bart got eaten last year. The next day there was a teenage lion sitting ten ft from a window above the tv watching me eat ribs. The next morning my wife went up the path where this pic was taken and there were three of them sitting under a tree. I had told her to take the rifle, she had a stick. She yelled at them, pee'd herself and went and bought a 9mm. I'm thinking I might need something with a little more punch to stop a cat the size of this one!

Hmmm, they ate one cat and the other is going to pass any minute. Our dog will be without a 4 legged friend.

I've got a 12 gauge but that's a little cumbersum. I've been thinking about getting a 45. I had to pick up the trash yesterday. That was probably just a bear. Yeah, just the bear!

I would find somebody with tracking dogs and take care of the problem. Even though they most likely will not attack a human, I would not take a chance...

Sounds like there isn't many things up there ....with all four legs. Most animals are scared of dogs because they are associated with packs. When my wife walks our property...it's always with a dog, rather than a gun.

Yes sir, that's part of life here. The thing is that with more and more people, they don't have as much habitat. So they're coming closer to us and are used to people now. We are on the menu!

That's what happened to Bart the cat. He would chase the foxs, raccoons and the neighbors dogs. He finally screwed with the wrong critter.

Yeah, the bears don't bother me so much. They don't even try to be stealthy and are only after the trash. Lions on the other hand, they are sneaky and super fast and deadly.

I'm thinking dirty Harry hand cannon. Maybe some cycling head mounted rear view mirrors are in order to.
