Finally installed the bedrug and I noticed when I remove the tie downs they leave a a bare metal spot where they were screwed in. What is the best way to take care of these spots so i don't get rust?

My bedrug had slits in it for the tie downs to come through instead of removing them.

 

^ This. If it isn't precut you can cut a small opening in the bedrug to allow those tie downs to poke through.

 

Well, it's a bit late. I have already removed the tie downs as per the instructions so cutting small opening is not an option now. Even if i put them back there will areas that are still bare and still prone to rust. I am leaning on getting touch up paint and covering the bare spots but not entirely sure if that will do the trick of keeping moisture out..

 

Painting over the bare metal will definitely help.
