    Hey guys -

New Tundra owner, second one actually, had a Ram 2500 in between because of heavy towing.

Picked up a 2019 SR5 TRD last week - white. Sweet truck!

I have literally been reading these forums and Facebook groups since the day I signed the paperwork.

I have a few options for wheels and lift and I'd like your guys' opinion that have "been there, done that".

I'm going with Ridge Grapplers 285/70R18 (34x11.5)- I really like this 'in between' size.

I've seen a lot of guys run these on the TRD PROs 100% stock and they work great!

Obviously, my Tundra and the PROs have different suspension components (and the 2" lift).

I'm a Colorado guy, avid hunter and camper, so I am on some decent off-road stuff, nothing crazy. 90% of the time I'm a commuter and kid hauler.

I ordered the 6112 Bilsteins preset at 2.5" (top)

I ordered 3 CB shims, I'll run the DS one for sure.

    I ordered adjustable shackles 1-1.5"

My thoughts are to run the Bilsteins at 2.5" (add my one DS shim) and run 1" lift in the rear. This SHOULD be no issue - technically it's more lift than the PROs.

Now, wheel offset plays the biggest role in what rubs and what doesn't rub.

I could run OEM TRD wheels and probably not rub. I do like a little wider stance - so I could run SpiderTrax 1.25" spacers as well.

OR I can get some Fuel wheels pretty discounted with a +20 offset.

I've seen a lot of guys also run 3/1's and 3/1.5's - I could easily do this by adding the CB shims to both sides and bumping the rear up to 1.5" (I do like a little rake, often have a decent load in the bed) .

If you guys were me - what setup would you go with having all those options??

I also question jumping from 2.5" to 3" if I need UCAs (I know they help regardless). Also, jumping from 1" to 1.5" in the rear on the adjustable shackle?

Please let me know your thoughts from people who have been there, done that.

    I appreciate it in advance!!

Please post photos if you do this! I’m looking into progressive AAL and a leveling kit to run the 285/70r18s.

As for wheels I haven’t much to say since I kept mine stock. However I am running the 6112 at top setting with 2 cb shims on ds and one on pass. The rear is 5100 shocks along with the coach builder +3 shackles. I went ahead and got some JBA HD UCAs for alignment. I gained 3.25 up front and close to 2” out back. You can see my truck sits a touch nose high but since I lifted it seems to have settled a tad but still a tiny bit nose high. So you might be good only running one shim on ds to keep it more level. Good luck and make sure to update us with pictures!E22C9915-C07B-48F3-9A39-DB3174582909.jpgE2340D65-B30C-49D4-904E-4160705B5680.jpgFD94D6CD-3A54-4374-886B-3FE5CA981386.jpg

Damn that sucks! Built mine for road trips so I was trying to keep it more on the efficient side. But I’m sure later on I’ll find some wheels I can’t live without.

@Rica25 what wheel/tire setup did you end up with? Can you post some pics of the final/current result as well?

I say to keep the stock wheels; they'll fit a 285mm wide tire and if you mess one up they're always easy to find cheap replacements for.
