i stopped by my local auto shop asking about installing a lift on 2017 tundra and I was told tundras have had some recall issues with transmission making noise after the angle of drive shaft was changed from installing lift. Anyone else have experience with this?

First I've heard of it. The very first batch of Tundras in 2007 had some torque converter issues but those were all fixed on the spot. Over 50 percent of everyone in this forum have some sort of lift and I've never heard anyone with transmission issues.

Never heard of it either. My lifted Tundra and my friends who have lifted Tundras haven't had issues.

@ColoradoTJ @csuviper have you guys ever heard of this? I'm relatively new to these trucks and don't want to pass bad info.

Maximum automotive in Naperville il. I may have Toyota do the lift so I keep the warranty. Toyota said if someone else does it they warranty would be void. Rrrrrr

I have not heard of this issue with the transmission noise.
I have recently been getting some vibrations over the past few months but i believe it is all from my tires that are getting close to needed changed. Did a tire rotation and it helped out alot so i know its that and not what you are describing.

Hmmm maybe it was a fluke experience the body shop ran into.

Did you end up getting a lift tgun? I’m having one installed in two weeks and just curious on your experience so far. By the way I’m in Bolingbrook and got my truck from Naperville.
