    Fridge slide and Yeti “installed”

I’m going to keep the fridge and battery out until the week before the first trip. And I need to fasten two tie down points for the battery which I’ll do in just a minute. Hoping to get the 40% seat delete done on a lunch (if work isn’t 14hr days again this week)

I need to update the original post too which I’ll do this week. It’s a bit out of date.
Thinking about switching to a James Baroud XXL too.

Dude your truck is epic! I'm curious, when you were looking for caps, did you look at anything besides RLD Design? Is there anything similar that you ran into out there that's not a fiberglass cap and offers the increased security of solid metal doors? I currently have a Diamond Back, and like the security that it offers, and the fact that you can't see into the bed. But I'm struggling with leaks, and it obviously has limited height. I'm not a huge fan of caps, but would like something that has more head room for mounting a fridge on a slider, more room for storage, etc.

    Thanks!

There weren’t as many options out as there are now for what I was looking for, RLD was one of the first metal toppers to hit the US. RSI makes one, and depending what you are doing AT habitat.

For me is was all about keeping my gear dry at the end of the day too. Hope that helps?

Will be working this weekend to install C4 sliders and get my 67 Design arms in. Still waiting on the iPad mount since I haven’t gotten them the info on it like a jerk! Ha

So many of them. I just haven’t had an opportunity to update the thread. I put on a James Baroud XXL this week. Ordered a bracket for onboard air and ordered an ARB twin.
Edit: the 23Zero is an amazing tent, the canopy just made it hard to open so I went hardshell

Damn your build is just want I want/plan on doing to my truck. I was torn between the James Baroud XXL and the Autohome Maggiolina Grand. I think I'm going with the Autohome. But would definitely like to hear about your review and why you chose the James Baroud.

The James Baroud is 200lbs so careful on the ARE weight capacity especially once you get into the tent. You see people using the ARE just make sure they can handle the static and dynamic load.

nicely done. you wouldn't happen to be able to get measurements on the pods for the rock lights? been looking for something to mount onto my prinsu and those my fit the bill. i like the low profile look of those.

digging everything else. did you get a panel to charge the yeti while on the road?

I can get you measurements no problem this weekend. For your reference they are the mesocustom I grabbed through UpTop Overland here in CO.
I didn’t do a panel yet as my job doesn’t really allow me to be off the grid for more than a day or two right now (and for the foreseeable future). So I’m running the worlds most expensive 12v charging cable from Yeti. And will just plug it in to the house when parked for now.

I’ve got a couple more questions about your RLD, of you don’t mind...

    1. Is any water getting in?
    2. How is the cap actually installed/attached to the bed? Can you post some pics of the brackets or whatever is used to secure it down?
    3. Any concern about security with the rear window on the cap (versus ordering a rear door with no window so people can’t see into the bed)?
    4. Does the rear window allow view of the road through center rear view mirror? It looks like you have some storage boxes at the front of the bed, so maybe it’s a mute point.
    5. Last question...how did you install the 3rd brake light? Do you mind sharing the link for the brake light itself?

I’m still seriously considering the RLD cap, as well as the RSI Designs cap that comes out this summer. The RSI is a modular cap that has to be assembled, so that concerns me a bit for possible water intrusion. The other issue for me is that there are no photos of the RSI on a Tundra, and hardly any of the RLD on a Tundra (your photos are by far the best).

    Thanks in advance.

The one caveat I would have on RLD is to not order a single accessory. Imo they are afterthoughts and not worth it. There are way better options out there for less or the same.
