It started out with the trip being for my wife’s cousin’s wedding in Portland, and we’d decided to take in a bit of the Oregon coast while we were down that way. The plan was to camp a couple nights on on the coast in the Tillamook area, then visit Mt. St Helens but we decided to forgo camping and the volcano after my incident at work the previous week. (Separate thread, lost the end of one digit)

I booked accomodation in Garibaldi, a rather quaint little coast town as it turns out, and we ventured up the coast from there.

My 2 boys got to swim in the ocean for the first time, here at Hug Pt.

We then visited Cannon Beach where they use the best to patrol the beach:

And Manzanita, a great spot for this, and other things:

We returned home via inland Washington, and visited the Grand Coulee Dam on the way home as well, but I didn’t take any pics there.

Trip average was 12.79 L/100 km, or 18.39 mpg (US gal), despite some nasty headwinds /crosswinds on the way home. Reset the average before leaving, it reads 13L/100 km, or 18.0 mpg. Best single tank was 12.42 L/100 km, or 18.94 mpg. I’m OK with that.

We want to go back for longer, travel north to south on the coast, and camp next time as well.

It was pretty good for us - mix of sun and cloud, rained as we were leaving. Not hot, but not what I’d call cold either. Just cool enough to keep a light jacket close by.

I have never heard someone on their death bed say “ Gee, I wish that I wouldn’t have had such a high visa bill!”

    Lol.

    Live the dream.

Pretty good mileage as well. I used to get that with my second gen. Felt good.
