Ideas on what level kit to get and a price range I'm looking at spending for parts and installation. I do not do any serious off roading just go fishing and to the lake.

    Thanks, Hood

Stay away from spacers a lot of horror stories about them on the forum. Like most have said toytec, bilstein 5100s or 6112s but the 6112s are hard to find right now sold out everywhere, OME but I’m not sure if your 4wd or 2wd I’ve heard the OME lifts higher on the 2wd since they were designed for the 4wd. Just depends on your budget

Are you looking to just level the front or are you looking for something like a 3/1 kit that will lift the front and the back? Least expensive would be the 5100's in front and you could leave the rear shocks alone until a later date. Also consider what size tire a and wheel offset you want to run as these things have different lift requirements.

Best bet would be bilstein 5100s or 6112s to avoid needing UCA’s

5100s go 0-2.25” the 6112s go 0-2.5” but are lot beefier than the 5100s

I'm new to the truck game. Always wanted a tundra but I've been driving a 300k toyota Rav4 till I got my career. Kinda like a struggle every day to motivate me till I make it kinda thing. So now that ive had my tundra for 7 days I'm going crazy and upgrading everything lol

Nice wheel. With a +18 offset and just leveling the front you could easily go with 275/70R18 or 285/65R18 with minimal issues. Level is ~2". The 5100's on the middle setting would lift the front about 1.57" so you would still have a slight rake. Going to the top setting on the 5100's is about 2.25" so it could be a tad nose high.

This may be a dumb question the truck came with brand new tires 255/70r/18 if I put those on the wheels till a later date when I can get beefier tires will that look completely dumb

This is my truck before and after the level with 275/65R18 (and before I replaced the wheels and tires). the height of the tire is not the issue but 255's are a narrower tire and may not fit on a 9" wheel.

    So if a 255 won't fit a 9" wheel I'm screwed till I get bigger tires

Thanks. I did 5100's on all corners. Front are set to the middle setting with 1 coachbuilder shim on each side and stock height in back. Total lift is 2" in front and is a tad lower than the back.

That is what I’m looking at wonder if there is any downsides to doing the 5100s on the top setting with a shim on each side and shackles in the rear? Looking for about 2.5” in the front and I can’t find the 6112s for a decent price anywhere

I think that the wheel width for a 255/70R18 is 6.5"-8.5". I would check with your local tire store about putting these on a 9" wheel.

I have seen posts of folks who have done top setting with a cb shim. This would get you closer to 2.75" of lift. (6112's are nice but I've heard that they are hard to find now.) At 2.5-2.75" you are still more limited in the size tire you can run without a lot of trimming. If I were going to lift the rear I would look at the Eibach kit.

Main issue is really looking to avoid UCA’s but at this point I might just have to bite the bullet every lift I like UCA’s are recommended

I don't understand how tire companies decide this. Looking at the Toyo Open Country A/T, 255/55R18 & 255/65R18 says that it is for 7"-9" wheels and the 255/70R18 says it is for 6.5"-8.5". Seems like the 255/70 should work.

I did not want to change UCA's now either which is why I kept it at 2". I've heard that some have no issues with alignment at 3" but some do and I did not want to risk it.

Same reason I’m looking for around 2.5” of lift to avoid doing UCA’s plus I have a 18 so I would need to lift the rear a bit to keep some rake so my sensors don’t go nuts

FWIW, I took this photo the other week while assisting on an install. (Swapping this spacer for a coil over kit) This is a spacer with full droop- notice how the UCA is in contact with the coil?

I would recommend this route as well. Ride quality is better, coil overs/shocks are top notch, and price can't be beat.

Are UCA's recommended or needed with CoilOvers like the Eibach or Boss kits?
