My knife collection’s strange ability to reproduce? “I don’t know how that other knife got there honey.”

 

Me, as I set a new gun on the counter,
“Honey, look at what followed me home, isn’t it cute? Can I keep it?”

 

She asked me Saturday “Where did that one come from?” I didn’t even realize she was paying attention.

 

This little one looks and feels almost like a bit of jewelry. Actual cutting edge is 1.75” long. Overall length is about 4.25”.
Very comfortable to hold. The scales are desert ironwood. My plan is to make a neck sheath with lanyard.

 

Wasn't there something about women wearing those in the Game of Thrones?

So I was looking at pipe threaders to possibly help with doing twist pattern Damascus. I came across this text in the instructions for one.Care to guess where it was made? lol

Depends who you talk to. Lots of people around here say "qwuh-beck", but are just as likely to called it "the deadweight province", "Corruption Central", "the fuckin' frenchies" or just label as a generic Fuckoffistan.

Out here in the West, we don't think too kindly about that place. We're generally not real big fans of much that lies east of Manitoba now that I think about it.

 

Found this lil guy at work just now in a kitchen cabinet. Not sure if the sheath goes with it or not.

 

Squaring up with Ray!! he showed me some steel with lots of layers (amazing) hoping my last two are in there somewhere, but I did tell him no worries about getting them done!

Wife is getting used to sharp knives. She has done better than me about getting cut. After all these years we have and hoping to have two more very sharp knives in the kitchen!! Turkey dinner beware!!!!!

 

There’s some nice work that went into this knife. Looks like it was seriously abused. No history, I guess? Is there any stamp or makers mark?

 

So, thanksgiving is my deadline? I should be able to make that schedule!

I have a guy who I’m teaching a bit, coming to the shop. I will work with him through 2 knives. Started with the raw steel Saturday. Today we will finish his billet at a nice 114 layers.

 

It’s just patina on the blade from cutting apples, bananas, etc.

Speaking of knives I just added this one. Wow Northwoods quality has me blown away.

 

No deadline Ray none at all. You do what needs to be done,, take your time and they will get here when they get here!!!. All the best!! Mushroom hunting sounds like a blast. We used to live where a person can get morels and yummy they were. By the time season was over we were tired of mushrooms!! Ha Ha!! but up there I bet y’all get a variety???

 

Truly a tremendous variety of mushrooms are available here. We are not taking any risks, though, so we stick to the ones we know pretty well. They are also the more common varieties; morels, boletes, chanterelles, oyster and the occasional lobster. It’s a great way for old, slow people with injuries to have a good time in the woods with the grandkids, lol!

and I was going to say grab a mushroom knife get out in the woods and have at it. Only had the privilege to taste a lobster mushroom one time when we was visiting in Minnesota and it was dang tasty!!!
