This project included 6 matching knives. The one at the very bottom was the prototype and @ToyoMafia is keeping that one for himself. It’s got over 900 layers, including 2 layers of nickel and a high carbon steel core. All have different file work, pins and gimping

Scored my first Chris Reeve knife over the weekend. Large Sebenza 31. I wanted a plain one, but hadn’t found one without a big markup on it so I went with this one when I found it.
As luck would have it, a friend came through on the exact one I wanted yesterday, so I bought it also and should have it soon. I’ll probably end up returning this one. They’re too expensive to keep both.

After buying some nice knives, I figured out buying the “less expensive” ones is the waste of money unless you lose them every year.

Spending $300 on a knife has been an effective way for me to not lose it.

 

A Sebenza is one of mu grail knives.

 

I think your friend was trying to make you buy two.

 

Plus, it's like any other tool... You really do get what you pay for!

I started buying expensive knives because I always lose them, and I got tired of not caring.

 

It’s been mine for over a decade. Now two in one week.

 

I think said friend, or another unsaid friend should buy the other one.

 

I will say the lanyard is kind of dumb and useless.

 

I’m definitely on the fence about lanyards. Normally I don’t include em, but I did on several occasions. On a butcher knife or cleaver, that’s getting greasy or slippery with blood, it makes some sense. Or maybe a boat or diving knife, of course…

 

A friends timing with knife releases, imbricating with another friends timing with cutlery overabundance has placed a conundrum on a strictly, one sharp object per month restriction.

 

It comes with a sticker.

 

It’s just unnecessary decoration on this one.

What the fuck is imbricating? Combination of imbibing and lubricating?

 

I'm not a lanyard guy, but have one folder with a piece of paracord as a lanyard. But, I understand the utility. Whatever floats the boat.

 

Well, now I simply must buy one.

Can confirm. Last winter I bought a shiny new electric ice auger. It was not cheap. I opened the box, took the auger out and was rooting around in the paperwork and cardboard. The Woman asked me what I was looking for. "Sticker."..."You have an expensive new toy and you're looking for a sticker?"..."Yes."..."Men are weird"..."There's no sticker!!! Cheap fucks. I might return this thing."..."I can't even with you. I'm going to bed."..."This is an outrage! This much money and no sticker?? What do you think...honey? Where'd you go?"

 

I can think of several purchases I've made in the last couple of months that come down to... 'Oh well, it's just a tank of gas'!! Pretty soon... SuperCharger!!!!!!!!!
