I usually carry an Alox Cadet for this very reason.

 

I dig that wharnie blade shape. Maybe the best of all blade shapes for a folder??? D2 is vastly underrated IMHO.

I have a $45 knife that remains one of my favorites to "office carry". Deep carry clip and ~ 2.6" blade, liner lock flipper, micarta scales. Cheap, sharp and if I were to lose it, ... no milk spilled. Civivi Elementum. Not smokable, but I get to reuse.

The Glock version of the Kbar. This thing has bounced around in my vehicles for years. Love it b/c is is sharp, strong and disposable.

This is one of those “Well, for $40 I get free shipping” purchases. It stays in my garage tool box waiting for the right application. Love the look….

This was love at first sight. I was so star struck with the design and smooth action I didn’t realize it was longer than legal around here and too heavy/bulky for EDC. Now it lives in my get-home bag cuz if I’m using that bag size don’t matter…

 

I'm looking to pickup a Benchmade mini Griptilian or mini Bugout here in a few weeks, I'd love to here comments from some Benchmade guys. I've been keeping my eye on knifehq. They seem to have good prices and in house custom work to some BM's.

 

Have you ever looked at GovX.com?
Other than that, EKnives, SMKW and Knife Center all do well.

 

Love my bugout. It's my everyday carry now. Replaced my Kershaw. It's light, compact, and holds an edge really well. I've used it on everything from boxes to field dressing small game. It's my first Benchmade, but if all of them are of this quality or better, I won't hesitate to purchase another from them.

 

Good looking out. I'm in, and wow those prices are way better. That could be dangerous.

Big fan of Ken Onion’s Kershaw knives as my typical carry. Also nearly always have a Leatherman nearby. Hunting knife will go back in the truck when I have somewhere to secure it in the bed.

 

I carried a $26 Kershaw around for more than 6 years for this same reason. I do have a couple of really nice EDC's now, but cheap has value beyond just price.

Very nice and I really like the micarta in-lays. The small Sebenza is such a useful size, feels solid in hand. Hard to describe until you hold one. Chris Reeve knives are definitely knives made for a lifetime. I'm waiting on an Umnumzaan that should be built in Aug.-Sept. time frame.

Your right on with that as I do appreciate high quality in items also.
I just freaked on a "pocket knife" which to me would be an everyday carry, cost that much.
I could easily see a person "misplacing" a pocket knife and dropping that much bread into something that can easily get lost in an instant.

I know a few things about custom fixed blades. That is very, very good. Congrats!

Your response is understood but wasn’t well received among many of us knife fanatics. I try to create knives that are collectible but also fully functional. Many folks collect things that are easier to lose than a pocket knife but serve no function at all. Stamps and coins come to mind.
Should you find a need to cycle some seegars out of your humidor, PM me, I love a good smoke now and then!
