I had an old Kershaw that some people scoffed at. Had 18CRMoV (5h!+) steel, fiberglass scales, and the flipper stuck out too far. But man I love that knife, if for no other reason that if I lose it or break it, I'm only out a $24 knife I got years of use from. I've moved onto others for daily drivers, but I'll be keeping that beater. Never heard of Honey Badger before, but hope it works out.

[Edit] - Also, kinda jealous of that stapler.

This knife is awesome! I didn't have to put a new edge on this thing until halfway into skinning my elk. Great craftsmanship. Great feel. Never felt like it would slip, even when completely covered in blood. Thanks again Ray! @gosolo 20211030_074118.jpg 20211030_074348.jpg 20211030_081205.jpg

The coolest part is how you merged these two pics to make them seem like one.

The phone cord brings up bad childhood memories.

It was a tough choice between Heretic and Microtech for me. The Heretic won, but if I don't get over it, the Microtech will win too.

    Nice one.

Got this Honey Badger brand knife from Amazon the other day after reading a recommendation for them. Seems to be very good quality. Very smooth opening and closing, and came really sharp. Only 40 bucks. Really well made.

A red Swingline stapler, an homage to 'Office Space'?

My letter opener: Kizer knives, kind of in the same price point as above ok steel.

Standard desk jockey protocol; throw a stapler at your enemy and if he keeps coming, pull your knife.

    Just amazing!
    That pattern is so peaceful.
Story on the handle and adornments, please.

    The steel is my favorite,1084 & 15n20.
The handle is a piece of curly maple that I had dyed green and stabilized.
The primary mosaic pin is a combination of 2 mosaic pins. The big one has a center hole that I can use for lanyards. I used another small pin piece and a small piece of tube that made the 3 tube center. (I have more mosaic pins coming my way). That’s gray and black g-10 liners.

The pattern of this one feels ‘whimsical’, like Casper the ghost, if you know what I mean. Every pattern seems to have its own mood and energy. The method for this one is the same thing that I did for the big Bowie knife; a raindrop pattern, with some of the dots connected, but a lower layer count.

I also did a different edge bevel grind. From the spine 2/3 of the blade is completely flat. The last 1/3 terminated at the edge with an 11* angle. Perfect for vegetables, might chip if it is mishandled or used around bone.
