Finished this little skinner today. It’s a pretty bold pattern from only 19 layers, twisted 5 times BB4BA3E7-13EB-43DD-A814-4C0963A32F1A.jpg

    Absolutely, beautiful!
That handle is on point as well.
Have you finished the sheath quite yet?

I have not started the sheath yet. I just got the handle done today. It’s natural canvas scale micarta. F51A84EE-A7B0-4102-96AD-64F2C60DD722.jpg

In keeping with the twist pattern, I did a little twisted rope file work on the spine 52579DA8-C66C-49CE-90D4-26A3F48659E2.jpg

Okay, I’m looking for some feedback and suggestions. This is the first knife I have made a hole for a lanyard on.
What kind of lanyard do you have on any of your knives?
What do you think would be best for a lanyard?
This one, I just finished, seems too big, to me, thoughts?18706834-BA65-4C70-813C-634725CA429B.jpgC5F92D4F-4AD7-4B98-B881-8D1DF6D22599.jpgA87FE2C4-E424-4920-A9B3-E4A3C467F62C.jpg

I think it's the right size. I might like to see a celtic knot at the top, but it's perfect without, too. That braid fits really nice with the texture on the scales.

This was my first Damascus knife. It’s been misplaced for several years and I found it today.973AE468-33D2-4EC8-9139-1ABB5D626E1C.jpgI started work on it about 40 years ago. Not sure about the steel I used, I’m sure it was wrought iron I salvaged off an old bridge and I think that I used a couple dull files. I got 49 layers welded up, but didn’t get any further before we had to move. I think we moved 3 times before I had a forge set up and found the billet in a bucket of miscellaneous steel. So, that’s about 20 years elapsed. I cleaned it up, did a twist and finished the knife. Handle is mesquite wood. I didn’t know much about heat treating then, so it’s probably only good as a letter opener.

Got this Honey Badger brand knife from Amazon the other day after reading a recommendation for them. Seems to be very good quality. Very smooth opening and closing, and came really sharp. Only 40 bucks. Really well made.
