That's a nice step up from the Kershaw. Enjoy!

You’ll love it once you get used to it/get it broken in some. I really fell in love with my Zaan after the first time I broke it down and cleaned / relubed / adjusted pivot how I wanted it.

I’ve been carrying my small Sebenza all week. I love how they look with some wear! Enjoy and use the crap out of it!

I like that knife. I like the looks and quality of the CRK small Inkosi that I got, but it is nearly impossible to open with one hand. It’s slightly shorter than the Sebenza 31 which makes one handed opening much harder. My son has a small Sebenza and it is much easier to open. May end up selling the Inkosi and get a Sebenza.

The CRK's are certainly stiff out of the box and can take quite a while to break in. I was struggling with the adjustment on my small Sebenza 31. Couldn't get it adjusted for tension vs. centering. I took it apart and polished the washers on some 1000 grit wet paper and that made a big improvement. I can now thumb flick open and the centering is good. Several videos on this. Here is one using a honing stone.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jC2mVw_fTU

Obviously, you can sell the knife and it you will most likely recoup your investment. If you like the knife otherwise, you might consider sending it to CRK for servicing. They stand behind their products with lifetime warranty and service.

Thanks for the video link. I think I will break it down, polish and re-grease the washers. The Inkosi is actually easier to take apart than the Sebenza because both washers are identical and easy to see how they go back in. On my Inkosi, it’s just the initial 1/2” movement that is extremely stiff. One you break past that initial 1/2”, the rest of the opening is very smooth.

I don't know Emerson knives that well, but was told this is from 1998. Either way, it's a cool piece and the only one I own with serrations.

It was driving me crazy so I just sat down and disassembled it. No visible lub so I cleaned everything, lubed and reassembled. It now easily opens with one hand. What a difference. Thanks for the tip.

Good on you BayRunner. There is definite satisfaction from breaking these knives down. They are super simple. A single 5/64" allen key, a piece of cloth and almost any lubricant are all that are needed for a complete service. The Chris Reeves knives are old school in a way that I really dig. Everything about it is just solid. It should last you and your descendants for a long time. Enjoy!

My hike today along the Deschutes.

At risk of repeating a question probably asked multiple times on this thread, where are people buying their knives online these days?

I’m in the mood for something new…

Spiderco is another decent online source. I rarely order online from Spiderco. I just drive to Golden which is 20 + minutes away depending on traffic. I like to check out their second's that they have at the store that don't get online. https://www.spyderco.com/

If you are comfortable buying secondary, the Every Day Blades group on FB has lots of knives posted for sale every day. A retailer I like is NC Blade. Small husband and wife shop that is just rock solid. The owner saw a posting of mine that I was looking for a particular knife and notified me that he had an order that fell through and hooked me up. Great service and communication.
