Yes, Microtech Large Underwater Demo Team (LUDT). They’re awesome and go fast once they hit dealers. Definitely my favorite auto! This one sports an Elmax blade with stonewashed finish. Around 8” overall, 3.4” blade, aluminum handles, maybe 3.5-3.75oz weight.

Oh yeah, and it’s a new knife day!

I've never had an ODF, nor even handled one. I like the look of the Microtech. The Adamas is a great knife. That thing is a beast.

I have Smith & Wesson knives that are reasonably priced and decent quality for the occasional play. While you are at it, get a combo pack with the axes also to double the fun. Bass pro had the set on sale a while ago for almost the same price that I paid for the knives alone, but it was a few weeks ago, so not sure if they would still have that.

Actually I was just looking at that. I can get the whole combo pack for 38 bucks through my ski industry pro deal website so guess it’s a no brainer! Haha thanks!!

I’ve had quite a few autos, OTF and OTS, but this one is by far my favorite.
Yeah the mini Adamas is a little tank. Heavier and thicker than I expected, but good size and feels good in the hand.

Finally getting around to posting some pics of the trio @gosolo made for me. I think his pics of them are better than mine, but these are my pics. :p

The story behind them is that I wanted a set of skinners for my brother and my dad and I. Something worthy of giving them, and something that would get used.

Ray had that awesome feather pattern blank (530 layers) and he reached out to me with the idea of getting two knives out of that single blank…So those two are the “brother” knives for my brother and I. Then the ladder pattern blade will be the one for our dad.
    upload_2021-7-11_11-21-35.jpg

I can’t wait to get out in the field with these and hopefully put them to their intended use this fall…

So, I’m working on something that might interest anyone who has a Damascus knife. Depending on use, the pattern will be diminished or fade behind stains and patina over time.
    Today, I took this;
    9F7E8B2E-8B7F-4E70-AE90-CB47440D6EB8.jpg
and made it look like this 150D9C90-B4E9-4FDC-94E6-77F57922CF2B.jpgOver the course of about 2 1/2 hours (2 hours were just idle time), with stuff most people have in their kitchen plus a small piece of fine sandpaper.
I used my personal chefs knife for the demo. It has been used daily several times a day for over a year.
I had kind of forgotten just how beautiful the pattern was!

    Ray,
    This is sooo helpful.
While I love the patina my knife is developing, being able to bring out that original look/pattern is killer!
    Good stuff!!

Glad it is useful for you. I think I may do it for myself, once a year, just to see that pattern. Occasionally I have made the mistake of slicing a lemon (for fish) or thin red onion (for a garnish), just before serving, and then realized I didn’t wipe the blade till after dinner. Big black splotches! Probably, I’m not the only one!
    Just don’t drink the coffee!

Yeah, I'm gonna quote my own post, lol.

After looking at the Blur, I just bought a Leek. The Blur just was a little too large for my EDC. The Leek is a nice size for me.

Got this Guardian Tactical Recon 035 recently and I’m impressed. Quality is right up there with the MT Ultratech, IMO. Needless to say I’m digging it so far!
