I am sure it would depend on the size and the amount of time put into a knife, but what do your knives normally sell for?

Cutlery Shoppe order was delivered yesterday. Jeff had an insane sale around Black Friday and I ended up getting these 2 for less than $100. They aren’t the top of the line Spyderco’s but they were on my list and I couldn’t pass up the sale price.

Bonus was my Manix 2 Cru Carta that was back ordered shipped from Midway yesterday too. Estimated delivery is Monday. Just in time for me to check it out before my hernia surgery on Tuesday.

Got itchy for a new knife. I didn't have an OTS auto; I wanted one on the smallish side, and budget friendly (something I won't mind abusing). I've not been a fan of Kershaw for a while now. The last few I tried felt like corners were cut, but I couldn't find bad reviews on the Launch 18 and I liked its blade shape and size; so I gave it a try. It's a winner.

I have a launch 4 with magnacut steel and ultim handles. That knife is one of my favorite summer knives. When I got it I had to take it apart and clean up the release button it was a little sticky from the factory. But to be fair I take almost all my blades apart and clean and polish all the connecting parts to get smoother opening and closing.

That's the only knock I have about the Launch 18 - the trigger is just slightly gravelly. But I only notice it when I'm trying to notice it, so I'm counting it as a pea and I'm being a princess. It slams that blade out, though, for sure.

So kershaw makes a ton of Chinese made Walmart garbage and I avoid those blades. However I believe they have a factory in Oregon and as far as USA made factory knives in my experience they are worth what you pay for them. Like I said in my previous post that little launch 4 after a little effort is one of my go to summer knives it is small and light enough I can even run with it.

For an OTS, you won’t find better than a Pro-Tech TR3. They can be had for under 200 bucks. Both the quality and customer support are as good as any knife maker on the market. All of their products are USA made and if something goes wrong with one they will immediately make it right, no questions asked. There’s not a better company to buy from at any price.

It's on the list. I haven't owned any ProTech knives, so it's good to know about their customer service.

My golden customer service story is about Heretic. I accidentally dropped my then-brand-new Manticore-E in Lavaca Bay while trying to net some bait. Sent it in and was prepped to pay for fixing my obvious abuse. It came back in less than a week, refreshed and cleaned - and sharpened - free of charge.

I’ve sent a Microtech in for repair and got excellent service. Considering Heretic is owned by the same family I’m not surprised they took care of you as well.

I have a tr2 and it's a damn fine knife. However for someone who likes to be able to take my knife down for cleaning and polishing it is a little more complicated mechanism and can be a little tricky getting back together. I realize most people will not have these issues and I am in no way bashing these fine knives this is just been my experience with them. And I'm still proud to own the one i have.

Yes. On the SE side of Portland. I would agree that their US-made knives are a great value. I’m also a big fan of their older Zero Tolerance knives that were more utility than fancy looks/shapes.
