Thank you for that! I’m having a lot of fun working out new patterns and techniques.

As I said i would I jumped in after some reading and I did make a purchase. I really like the tj Schwarz fixed blade but I got the next size up afterwards. Than I got a Fobos and I have not used it for much. I am trying to get the stuff I’ll need to sharpen them but only the little one has really seen some daily usage.

    I’m still learning

I finished this bad boy yesterday. It’s a very old style (Nessmuk), over 150 years old.
This one is made from mosaic Damascus with natural canvas micarta scales. IMG_1251.jpg IMG_1254.jpg IMG_1255.jpg IMG_1256.jpg (Available)

I agree completely. This is the first one of this style that I’ve made but it won’t be the last. There were some challenges with the blade profile and file work because of the curves and shape. It just feels so right in my hand!

Finished this one today. The Damascus is a couple pieces of twisted that are welded together with the twists opposed.

Looks as good as a polished piece of jewelry! I’m curious about the shape, though. Won’t those sharp edges create hot spots when you’re using it?

Maybe a little, but it’s not too bad. Spartan’s folders have the same kind of edges and they’re some of my favorites.
One thing I’m bothered by (which I didn’t read about until a little while ago) though:
This is a collaboration between Pro-Tech and Strider. I came across some posts on Reddit that accused Mick Strider of Stolen Valor in the past. I haven’t gone back and researched it but if that’s the case, and had I known about it, I wouldn’t have ordered this.

An interesting evolution in Chris Reeves’s knives, is the collaboration with other artists.
Some designs by notable people, some off shore manufacturing and some various steel “xxx (or maybe not) depending on availability”
But still use of his makers mark. Reminds me of what happened to Buck knives.
