Lol I didn’t get any pictures when it was crashed. He had some guy kind of fix it. Fender paint is off a little but when I lifted the truck I bought used control arms and replaced the bushings in them. Toyota swapped out the ball joints under the recall. New to the Tundra club. Bought an 04 for a work truck as my Jeep has morphed into a trail rig (that escalated quickly).

200k+ miles on the clock but it purrs like a kitten. Went through all the usually suspects. Timing belt, water pump, fluids, new headlights, shocks/struts, inner tie rods, oil press sensor, and interior led upgrades. I'm very happy with it so far. Hopefully it's can go another 200k. Glad to be here.

Thanks! It drives just as good. The previous owner keep great records and I think I found a gem.

Here's the Jeep! Upgrades include but not limited to: Dana Ultimate 44 front axle, locker/gears/Eaton LSD, AEV lift, Adam's ED driveshafts, Dynatrac big brakes, 37" Patagonia's on Warn Jackhammer's, and a depleted college fund for my kids.

I keep thinking about selling the Tundra for something just like that.
My wife thinks I'll feel better once I upgrade the Tundra a little bit.

I love my Jeep, but using it as a daily driver was sucking the fun out of driving it. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Upgrade the Tundra they said... It'll be fun they said...
Truthfully I've had more fun in my Tundra than both my first gen Tacos and Ford Ranger combined.

Furthermore, spend 1/4 of what that Jeep product would cost you and your Tundra will stomp the hell out of it.

I'm not entirely sold on this hot take.
I can get into a good condition late-model Rubicon for ~$35-40k.
By your math, I can spend $10k and stomp a Rubicon. I would need lockers, long travel (f&r), 35s, and gears just to hang. That's a lot of parts for only $10k, and doesn't get me to 'stomping' territory imho.

But I do see your point. I can do a lot of profoundly stupid 5hit to my truck for $35k...and still not own a Jeep. ;)

The other side of that coin (third side?) is that if I jump ship, the Jeep retains its value better than any 'truck' ever could hope for.

"Stomp" was probably too aggressive a word, but I think $15-20k would do a hell of a lot, though delving into about-half territory.

To your last sentence, that single point is both part of the problem and the sad reality. Jeep as a brand has jumped the shark, pricing is inflated, aftermarket is inflated, it's kinda nuts. I get it, but it's just nuts.

The part about inflated pricing really hits home if you look at my driveway/garage.
My Tundra is the only non-luxury brand vehicle we own. It's not the newest or oldest. But it certainly has the cheapest insurance and maintenance costs.

You could certainly have fun in the Tundra, but a Tundra and the Jeep are different animals for sure. Beyond equipment, the dimensions are vastly different. Approach, departure and breakover angles being the keys, but also wheel travel, articulation etc. if were talking about stomping in an offroad sense. A Factory Jeep with 33" tires will be hard to match up to in the Tundra for a lot of coin, and you're not solving the biggest issue of angles..... Apples. Oranges. I personally wouldn't daily a Jeep, because I have, and I love myself more than that now. The Tundra is exceedingly better as a daily, even though it isn't a great daily. :crapstorm:

You can just ask for recommendations for a brush guard. You don't need to quote every single post ever in every thread.
