Hey i saw this post from 2015 that u had 208k miles. I was wondering what problem you had around 230k miles cause I I just got a truck and was wondering what to look for

 

Chrome doesn't look good with mud and dirt so you dont have to clean your truck so it looks good

 

Before anything done to it, then after new paint, emblems taken off, tint and Tacoma wheels with 265/70s. Hub caps have been ordered lol

 

Why not go black out?

 

You mean just black wheels or what?

 

Those Taco wheels look good on the Tundra.

 

The emblems, why just take them off?

I prefer clean smooth paint compared to tacky plastic emblems stuck all over my truck. For me, the less “things” there are on my truck the better. Emblems are one less thing.

 

First thing I’ve done to all my vehicles is remove the emblems. Cleaner look.

 

If I was from south of the border I would make it a point to place every emblem I could find on it, especially the fake side vents from wal mart. But I am from north of the border, so I do the opposite

 

I want to remove my emblems. Just haven't done it yet.

Agree 100%. I always remove any emblems and plastic stripes that in the long run, fade and crack with age. Less is more for me. I also replaced my original rims with some Toyota factory rims from an FJCruiser.

 

Super easy to do. Use heavy fishing line as a saw behind the emblems.

 

Can I get details on your lift?

 

For sure man.

Started with Rancho 2.5" Quicklift front struts. was supposed to level the truck but instead added more like 3.5"+ to the front and I was squatting. Believe that's called the "pre-runner" look lol. Wasn't a fan. So I added 2" lift blocks in the back, and some SkyJacker rear shocks to bring it up to level. I like the way it looks so much I wish I'd done it on purpose.

Also needed new rubber so I went to a slightly larger 265/75/16 tire. Could have gone bigger in hindsight...

 

Thanks, that’s the size tire I just put on mine but it’s stock height. I just want to level the front and have been looking into the bilstein leveling shocks. To lift it an inch.

Oh nice. Yeah that’s prob a pretty good option. I should have measured before I went with the front shocks I might have ended up only with a level. But I’m not mad.

What brand tires did you go with?

 

Those dual exhaust pipes are sexxxy.

 

BFG A/T just because that’s what was already on the wheels. I just got them last week. Tacoma wheels with 40% tread bfg for $100! Once they wear out I’ll go back my favorite, the general grabber at2. Imo it’s a better tire and really grips for less money. I’ve got 37k miles on the grabbers I just took off and still have half tread.

 

Have you looked at the grabber at/x? It has the beefier sidewall of the x3 but with the tread pattern and technology of the at2. It is a few pounds heavier but still has the 50k mile warranty for LT sizes.

 

I haven’t seen that. If I did much off roading I might would go for that but I just get in some loose sand around the beach and in some mud on game lands. I actually am gonna be in that mud in the morning so we’ll see how these bfg’s do.
