They’re trail gear weld ons. They were the cheaper option to the other ones I was looking at but I wouldn’t recommend the cheaper route. It was a huge pain to get them on there right. The kit came with legs that were too long and also did not have any frame plates. They work well at least.

A true cherry and very nice. No kidding, you'll find the nicest Tundras hanging around here.

I had a lifted 3/4T Chevy 4wd that I had built-up, and in fresh gunmetal metallic paint that I swapped for a stock Toyota Tacoma 4wd in that beautiful red - an SR5, V6, 5-speed (maybe a 1991, I don't remember the model year exactly). It too, was a cherry...until my wife totaled it. I almost cried, it was my first Toyota pickup and my baby, as I tried distancing myself from Detroit iron. To reset, I bought a gadget infested Eddie Bauer Ford Expedition 4wd with a big V8, mainly because the wife simply kills the little cars and their smaller engines, and with the idea that I would give it to her as I looked for another Toyota pickup. About a year later I bought Trixie, the V8 equipped Tundra I always wanted. Needless to say, the wife NEVER gets to drive my Trixie. It's understood that she will take the bus before I relent, and the bus stop is right in front of our house.:muscleflexing::locked:

Seeing all those HUGE Tundras makes me wish Toyota would go back to a smaller Tundra. I know, they have the Tacoma for a downsized truck, but it is just not the same in my opinion. Whereas the Tacoma is a very cute performer in its own right, the Tundra is where plush comfort meets performance in an agreeable looking package. Then again, I have not checked out the current accoutrements of the Tacoma.

For me, the smaller size was what first struck me as I became less enthusiastic about BIG trucks and their need for space. Next came the actual looks of the smaller trucks, which are strikingly pleasant, followed by their reputations for reliability. It's like moving from a Clydesdale or Belgium draft horse to a fleet little Arabian. Between carpenter gigs, I worked as a Datsun salesman and came to really enjoy the smaller package of their little pickup. Even though I sold Datsuns, and later Nissans, the few Toyotas that came through left a deep impression that the Datsun/Nissans did not instill in me. Later, I was hurt on the job in Laguna Niguel, Calif. and had to change occupations, so I went back to school and took up building big 4x4's as a hobby. Always somewhat disappointed in the builds, I moved on to a smaller vehicle - a Jeep. I never got the Jeep running well enough and lost faith in the vehicle, eventually swapping it out for a Tacoma regular cab. Then I moved from the cute regular cab Tacoma to the extended cab version, and finally to the classic 1st gen extended cab Tundra with the V8 and the oh-so-sweet ride.

Know that I am not really knocking the current Tundras, they are impressive, rather I am simply stating I wish it had remained small. Regrettably, because of the size change, were I to buy a new Toyota pickup, it would be a Tacoma rather than the larger Tundra. In the big picture, and for the most part, nobody cares what I have to say on the issue - but I would like to know how others feel on the subject.

Just block out all the 2Gs and focus on the leader of the pack! It would be cool to get a run going with just 1st Gens. :D

Thank you! Im not a big fan of the chrome strips and I just feel the 00-02 front end gives it a wider looking stance. :notsure:
Might just go with a custom prerunner style bumper, we shall see.

I would think a carbon fiber wrap of the chrome bumper strip and grill would really complete the masculine look of your rig that I sense your wheels convey. Just saying. Nice looking truck.

Go with a pre runner bumper and mesh grille. I actually like the big 3 bars, reminds me of a 49 chevy truck.

I always thought "Limited" was an odd choice for Toyota. Wouldn't unlimited make more sense?

Maybe that was lost in translation from Japenese to English.
