ah i didnt notice they were missing the marker light in the headlight. not a huge deal, may end up buying these, i can just wire the old marker light plug up to raptor style grille lights or something

New to the forum, love seeing all the different 1st gens. My 2006 DC is barely pushing 90k. It currently has Bilstein 5100's with a 3"front & 2"rear leveling kit / 1 1/4" front wheel spacers / TRD rims with 285/75r17 Falken Wildpeaks.

Wow. That is a great looking truck. Who makes the headlights?

Are you going to throw the center caps on those wheels?

Thank you! The headlights are just some cheapys from Amazon. I just took the TRD caps off and trying to figure out what I like better. If I keep the caps off, I will paint the hubs black to blend in.

Sorry, got Bilsteins all the way around with leveling kit. Eagle wheels with 275/65/r18 KO2’s with Borla exhaust. Bed liner with tonneau cover. Pretty simple setup, she just rolled over 49k. Plan on doing a different suspension setup in the future.

Thanks man! It's a super nice bumper. I didn't like it at first but it's grown on me.

Since getting it running, finally willing to post.

Picked this truck up about 2 months ago not running. It would start but sputter and shut off almost immediately.

    It's an 03 TRD Offroad Package 4x4 with 288k.
Currently, equipped with the TRD S/C, Unichip piggyback (replaced faulty TRD), RevTek 2.5" lift w/ diff drop (spacer up front/AAL rear), KYB front shocks and appears to be stock rear. Has a magnaflow muffler that looks poorly fitted to stock piping. This is how I purchased it with exception to the Unichip ECU.

    Recent work completed:
    • Unichip to replace failed TRD piggyback
    • (2) knock sensors
    • Cleaned & Flow tested injectors
    • (1) coil pack
    • Starter - Replaced at time of knock sensors due to the ease of access
    • Timing Belt
    • Water pump
    • Colder NGK spark plugs
    • Thermostat
    • Radiator Cap
    • Flushed radiator
    • Drive Belt
    • New oil/filter
    • New Optima Redtop

Plan to use it as a work vehicle and off-road/camping rig. A few more maintenance items and new rims/tires are on the docket. Will update as it the build progresses. Overall, it's a clean truck that I feel good about but definitely went way more out of pocket than I originally expected!!

Got the wheels and tires installed today. I ended up buying a spare 17" wheel from a junkyard last night.
It's too soon to tell on possible trimming but at full lock I'm actually a few millimeters from touching the frame. In reverse I'm rubbing the mudflaps so those will come off tonight. Will it look silly if I leave the rear flaps?

285/70/17 I went with C load range to save on weight and gas(in theory). I don't do any towing or haul many heavy loads so no need for E rated.

I had to remove my front mud flaps due to rubbing. But I left on the rear because here in California you can get pulled over for having large tires with no mud flaps. In my opinion I think it looks fine.2018-08-21 16.50.17.jpg 20180820_155639.jpg

Leave the flaps and let the tires rub them down till they no longer rub. Only in reverse so no worries about them ripping/breaking off?

Yeah that's actually not a bad idea. I like having the mud flaps. They don't bother me on our trucks like they do other vehicles. I only got to drive it a few miles but so far I only found rubbing in reverse. I may sand them down to speed up the process.
