Is that a standard seat or UTV seat in the back?

It’s a standard seat in the rear. The fronts are the 2” wider and 4” taller option from PRP, making the rear seat look tiny. I am currently changing the rear to two GT3 minis from PRP to make the truck a 4 seater.

Please do yourself a favor and read it! There’s a whole section on paint correction, especially for your two-stage paint color (axe me how I know). This is a very friendly site with very little ribbing of new folks, but….

I second that. Here, here! This pic barely scratches the surface of how bad this truck could use a paint job. Lots of clear coat issues, some paint chips with rust, the roof really needs a rattle canning soon. I don't know how the tail gate got the way it's all cracked, but some day I might try my hand at sanding it and repainting. Or just get a clean black tailgate from a junk yard. The driver side has some deep key marks. I don't know who the PO pissed off. Lol. But paint is pretty low on the priority list. Maybe someday.

    Hey Fellas,
Saw a 1st gen today I've never seen before. Side steps, rounded bed and strange looking rounded tailights. Anyone have the scoop on those? We have a lot of clean 1st gens around me, but I've never seen this style.

Yes that's the Stepchild, errr stepside bed that Toyota made for the AC for a couple years. Not well reviewed from a styling standpoint.

It did not look as nice as the usual ones I see, at least to me. It seemed to make the bed a lot smaller for useable space too. I can see why they only did it for a couple years.

    Thanks!

they had so much potential with those, like look at older stepside chevys and fords, some of those are badass then toyota decided to put literal headlights on the back:(

General consensus is itnwas dealer or port installed since I'm in the southern states. I've seen one other 2 tone like mine, but from the factory you could get imperial jade/Thunder gray. There's a few guys on here with that combo.

They weren't very popular. Still aren't. Lots of people hate them. I used to hate them myself. But for one reason or another, they grew on me. Now I'd love to take a regular cab, shorten the frame, and throw on a step side bed.

Ford and GM were doing it at the time and let's be honest, Toyota was taking cues from the big 3, so they could break into the full-size market. The GM stepsides were sick. I wanted one so bad in RC V8.
The second gen Ford Lightning was all the rage.
First gen Tundras look like Ford f150's.
Second gen Tundras look like Dodge Rams.

Nah bruh. You should know by now my dream RCSS is dropped, supercharged, either 4.0 V6 6 speed manual or v8 4.7 or 5.7, with custom badges that say TOYOTA TRD THUNDRA. Give the Ford SVT Lightnings a run for their money, I tell you what. I'd definitely have to do the side exit dual exhaust too. But thru the body.

It would be cool to see one of y'all do that. Not my style. I've never liked long beds. I've never liked short-short beds. Just regular size "short" beds for me.

What kind of activities do you plan to use your truck for?
If any offroading beyond mud or sand, I'd suggest rock sliders vs side steps. Several options out there, many listed in the armor thread
I like my Brute Force rock sliders, which I had welded on flat, so they double as steps.
    20241101_133900.jpg

    Nice truck BTW.
