It's actually in fantastic shape, no rust to be found. Heard that was a big issue on these so I made sure to look carefully before purchasing.

Gave the 1GT a facelift (Waltrip/FMS "sports grille") and some new shoes.
    Rocktrix RT111 Machined Gunmetal, 17x9 and -12 offset (i.e. 4.5" backspace)
Wildpeak AT3W in LT285/70r17 (C-rated) which rub mudflaps up front, but not so badly I couldn't align it out with a little extra caster

I think I'm going to ditch the Wildpeaks. Too noisy from 20mph-45mph, and a weird fast-vibration rumble in my pedal from 5mph-25mph. Smooth as silk on the interstate but noisier than my Baja Legend EXP (E-rated) in 275/70r17. Just gotta get off my ass and go pay for ANOTHER tire swap/balance :(
Pretty sure once I get that swap done, I'm on hold on cosmetic updates, unless I end up selling the cap (I'm waffling on it). I'm going to swap out the Toytec Alumas for Bilstein 6112s once I get them assembled.

You're going to go back to the 275's? I might be interested in the Wildpeaks depending on their age and remaining tread. I'm about due for new tires. My KO2's are 6 years old.

Wildpeaks are 50-60% tread on two, 75-85% or more on the other two. Date codes I'd need to recheck but I think two are 2020, the others are 2022. I bought them used and can guarantee no cupping or odd wear. Knowing we'll have a handoff probably midway, $60/tire they're yours. I've currently got the newer tires on rear and older ones in front. LMK if you need some pics or whatever, text me, I'll shoot em over. Small buy-in to test drive some, just need to recoup my $$. Full disclosure, I'm in ~$320 on these and I've got a deal lined up to sell the Jeep wheels they were on for $80 on Friday, so I'm only looking to get my money back out. I don't need to make money off you of all ppl.
Not sold on the idea yet.

I had someone local-ish (new member, 0 public posts) approach me inquiring recently. It's in relatively superb shape and is a better fit than other brands, and the Thunder grey paint is in excellent shape and a respectable match. If I drop the $400-500 to paint it to match, I'll be in for around $1100-1200 on supplies and refurb, so I'm kinda at that this shit-or-get-off-the-pot point where I'm, like, "am I gonna do this, or just sell for what I've got in it, which is around $750? I could probably use the cash right now, and I have a Bakflip in the attic to keep the bed dry ...."

Mind you, I love the Leer 100R. I love that it conforms over the bedrails so the only opportunity for leaks is at the front bulkhead or the window channels, which is awesome (you can't avoid the latter on any sliding-side-window shell designs). But it's the wrong color, and I'm a pigheaded SOB that can't help but believe I'm gonna be able to find another Leer 100 (100r, 100XL, 100XQ or otherwise) in Natural White/056 for my truck down the road if I want it.

Stupid part is, I have an access cab Bedrug in exceptional condition that matches the [aftermarket] carpeting in the Leer. There's a little foam fluffing off inside the tailgate side, but no major stains, no stinky smells, etc. I'm probalby in that for another $250. But after a test run with the youngest kid, I don't think the cap-and-bedliner setup is going to work for what I expected, so ... I threw out a number of $1k for all of it to the semi-local newbie.

I suspect the newbie won't take me up on it, but I bet there's a Thunder Grey owner like you or @NickB_01TRD who doesn't have what you guys have (shell, or anything) who may be hunting. I'm in no rush to sell. But I also am getting to that point where I'm, like, 6 months into the back side of a layoff, trying to flesh out a new job to get me thru the next couple years to retirement and that $1k would keep me afloat for another several weeks. I'm running out of shit to sell over here, and I've dodged the daily-work-daily-pay workfront for 35 years, I don't wanna go back any time soon.

Speaking of selling shit, let me know when you get those elkas off if your gonna sell em. I called dibs when you bought those 6112s! Or if you keep em that's cool too.

That wolf box camera is great. I have that on the mirror and the cheaper tailgate handle camera with the awful angle off Amazon. Together they make one really good one haha.

That's me right now. Pulled my front flaps, I've already rubbed clear through my fender liner and a nice shiny pinch weld is poking through at the moment. Really gotta get off my ass and get these 275s swapped on, then go get realigned for more caster eventually. Then go buy new liners and reinstall my front flaps again. This hurricane blowing over the next 2 days is gonna set that back a bit. Already getting dumped on. Glad we got a new roof 2 weeks ago, this week will test it out.

The alignment tech told me, you’ll have some frame rub……. But you already know about that. Hahah I’m like yep! Those solo arms don’t have steering stops, I’m still to scared to go full frame rub/bump

They're overrated. I have one in my new work truck and gfs car. I never use em. I'm so used to driving that work van for 12 years I just use my side mirrors. Having a rear view mirror is a blessing for my simple ass.
