That's an option called windoors. I checked and at 6ft I am unable to reach the bed from the window opening with out leaning all over the paint. Think it would have been $300 extra each BUT don't let that stop you, others have said they love them.

Also be sure to get the rails installed by dealer. Equipment for the rails is way over priced and can get online, local, ect. Member of forum sold me a set of bars for the rails at a great price. Haven't used once but ready and was cheap.
PS- it was also important to me just for the looks that the side bed rails were covered. No good reason, just looks.

The ARE website has a builder app that give you all the options. It used to price it too but now you have to enter a dealer to get a quote.
If you want to do rack the advice is spot on. Get them locally installed or do it yourself. It's not hard, just tedious to locate the rails because everything is curved.

My new topper finally showed up. It’s and ARE 26-32” wedge. It has full double doors in the back, a windoor with slider on the passenger side, and a full length storage box with shelving on the driver side.
This thing totally meets my needs for what I want my truck to do: daily driver, backcountry fly-fishing rig, minimalist camper, firewood hauler and tow rig. I’ve built a removable sleeping deck with storage and will be adding some foam board for insulation. I’m stoked!

Finally got my Snugtop in and installed. Snugtop Rebel with vented windoors. More than happy with my choice even with the freight cost to get a snuggy out to the east coast (VA). Also installed the bedrug and decked system. Getting close to completing the overland build. Can’t wait to take this thing out!

Bought new from the closest place I could find near me with the best prices. Vance truck accessories in Oklahoma City. Freight to get it out here was astronomical but know a lot of that has to do with inflation over the last year. Still really happy with it. Had a leer dealer install it and all the techs said it’s the best top they’ve seen and said the quality was beyond what they’d seen from leer and ARE. Although I believe all tops have their pros and cons I definitely like the options of the Snugtop the best. Figured if I was gonna spend that kinda money I might as well get exactly what I wanted.

How long did you have to wait after ordering?

    Any leaks?

I have heard since Snug moved all production to mexico they have had some quality issues.

I ordered a Super Sport model 3 months ago, it came in after two months but the dealer sent it back because it had a large scratch. The dealer has no idea when it will be fixed and back to them, communication between dealers and mfg seems to be poor. This would be my third Snug shell but I'm Losing my patience.

If I’m not mistaken mine was manufactured in CA. Ordered on 2/4/2022 and received at the shop on Oklahoma City at the end of March. Don’t remember the exact date but can say pretty confidently that it was the last week of March. So I’m guessing approximately 7-8 weeks. Then another couple weeks for the shop in Oklahoma to send it out to me in VA.

I haven’t noticed any leaks yet. I know that Snugtops are a little less susceptible to leaks given the double bulb seal and the fact that they overhang the bed a tad bit more than the leading competitors. I do know the day it was installed it rained non stop all day so it would be hard to give you a guarantee that the only water that made it into the bed of my truck wasn’t just from the shoddy tarp I had covering the bed, on the drive in to have it installed. I will say, since the install, I haven’t noticed any dampness inside with the exception of a little bit of water that had to dry out where the tailgate meets the bed….This was from the drive in the day of install. I don’t want to jinx myself but I’d say mines pretty water tight.

I’ll give you a better update once it rains again.

I haven’t noticed any quality control issues with mine at all. With the exception that snug forgot to include my fishing rod holders. Really as far as craftsmanship The only thing I can say is the paint match may not be dead on. That could also be the fact that I had a nice clean top dropped down on a dirty truck bed. If I had to guess I’d say the metallic flake content was a little lacking but I’ll know for sure once I wash and wax the whole truck.

Overall I’m extremely happy with it, but then again I’ve never owned a truck with top before l, so I don’t have much to compare it to.

Day 173. I no longer understand how to truck without a cap. Non-cappers are mysterious and primitive creatures to me…

Something about the addition of this cap has made putting the blower on the truck even more entertaining. What does one call it when you are unsuspectingly passed by a truck with a “pappy” cap. Is that being taken to….capplebees? That must sting.

Any of you fellow cap owners work out a way to lift and store your caps for the summer? I'm debating selling mine or just taking it off for the summer when I could use the payload for towing. I do like having it pretty much all the time as I have a 5x8 trailer with more payload than my tundra.:notsure:

Does it affect your ability to tow your camper? Or do you just worry about the numbers

Numbers are numbers. I tow a larger camper than yours with my Cap on. I don’t load the truck bed with things. Usually just me and the dogs in there. WDH is dialed in for even squat front to back. Tows fine. I wouldnt ditch the cap over the numbers.
