It would look nice on a black truck.

For what it’s worth, I’m happy to provide info/photos of my RSI SmartCap. I lurked on here and other forums/YouTube before pulling the trigger. It’s a lot of cash so I’m happy to help others as I was helped...

Prinsu dropped their price on the Top Rack today. It's good til Friday. I think I want an extra cross bar, so shipping gets spendy from Prinsu direct.

Truck Brigade is free shipping and price match. Price match gets you in store credit, which could then be used to buy the extra cross bar and some accessories. We shall see.

Both storage boxes are actually bolted on the rails since it sits flush with the boxes.

The Tie down rings I bought from Prinsu. I didn’t know they already give you a set of the rings when you buy the Rack lol so I have extras. The rings come with cage bolts to bolt them down on either rails or load panels. I have ratchet straps that hook on to them.

Do you think the load panels are worth it? Not sure I'd use them.

Thanks for the heads up on the rings. I'll buy one less set.

To be honest, I thought the same till installed everything together. I can see why they call it “Load” Panel. It really does fell much more sturdier for heavier things AAAAAND another reason they are great is because depending what or how you mount your equipment, the load panels give you a variety of ways to mount them. For the price and for what they do, they are worth it to me.

It was great, but needed some cash to pay off some bills. The only reason I would get a shell is because i would find it the color of my truck with all side windows able to pop up. Surprisingly I found one. So probably gonna go pick it up in the next couple months.

Not necessary, but recommended. I think of them as a little bit of insurance for the bed. It's got the weight of the camper and all that u throw at it. Also adds a bit of rigidity to it also. I mean $180 bucks from total chaos and u prevent urself from possible "bed failure." It's literally all in the description that they advertise. Up to the person at the end of the day.

I can not really accept that these are a need for anyone with a hard camper shell at all?
If anything my Camper Shell actually reinforces the bed sides all on its own as it is tightly clamping the bed sides to each other across the width of the bed and makes the bed/shell almost a single structure which has to make it a lot more rigid than just the open bed sides on their own?

I am not a structural engineer but am willing to stay at a Holiday Inn Express if I need to to prove my point!

Yeah, I would tend to take a statement about how great the stiffeners are from the company that sells them with a large grain of salt.

I had a very small spot start to rub on the very corner from the seal I just took a knife and cut that little piece of seal out no more problem.

I almost convinced myself I wanted Total Chaos bed stiffeners for the Tundra. I've had a Leer shell on my Tacoma since 2012 and one on the Tundra since 2019.

Then I realized I was just looking for something else to buy. Maybe if I was overlanding or hauling dirt bikes in the bed regularly. They also look like they'd get in the way.

I am pretty sure that an Old Man would only have a RCLB truck so I am not at all convinced that yours is one of those? :D

I don't currently as I has t come in yet but , I plan on the same rig I had for my jeep top back in the day. I'm going to mount a small electric hoist from the garage ceiling trusses and rig a frame for it to sit on then hoist out of the way to the ceiling , secure with ratchet straps.
