I appreciate the feedback and pics. Your truck looks awesome man. I called G&W yesterday, about 4 weeks for Protops delivery. Still on the fence but after seeing yours I’ll probably pull the trigger.

Hello all, learning about this i have 3 questions:

1.- How much does this toppers go for when new? (ballpark)

2.- Is it an optical illusion of does it seems like some of these caps raise a little in the back creating an awkward effect, or is it because of the pre-existent rake in the truck?

3.- Depending on the vendor are these readily available or is there waitng time for they to fabricate them?

    Thanks in avance.

1- Price depends on location, but you are looking at anywhere from $1500-$3000+. It also depends on options. I opted for a "cheaper" model, Ranch, and it looks great and I'm very happy.

2- Cab height, are just that. You can opt for a taller model, but always more $. I measured mine before my wife took it into the parking garage at work. Mine is cab height, and the back of the cab is the highest point. I can't speak for all manufacturers, but mine is basically same height from front of cab, to back of topper, within reason.

3- As far as I know, there will be a waiting period. At the minimum, you should plan on 4 weeks, some even longer. They are made to order.

Some of the cab high ones do slope up in the back a bit. I have no idea why. My Leer Legend does and I'm not a huge fan of it but you can only really notice when you're looking straight at the side of the truck.

Mine is a Work Truck and color match is just fine.

There are many ways to find a Cap and used is always my first choice, even on a RCLB which I thought would not be something I could find.

I love my 100XR I just got, but for building out for camping, work, whatever...these are pretty cool. Just being able to drill into it to mount stuff compared to fiberglass would be so nice.

This ARC cap was less than a year old, and with a new roof rack, headliner, dome light and sliding windows, I am in it for $1500. Working on a sleeping deck, drawers, an inverter and LED strip lights right now.

Yeah, I feel the same way, I'd like them better if they were flat/level, that slope makes it a little ugly to my eyes.

    Thank you!

    How "fixed/permanent" are they?

Can you easily remove them if you need to haul something tall?

    Not really.
They are fairly heavy for one and often require pretty careful alignment before being clamped down to seal properly and avoid scratching the body around them so while you could easily rig something to help you do it I would not buy a cap with the idea in mind that is a great idea to have in the back of your mind myself.

There are Soft Caps though that lend themselves to that kind of use but then those are not rugged and sturdy and as secure as a hard cap either.

Back in the Cap game. This past two months have been the longest I have ever gone without a cap on my truck. 531A2017-4A84-4773-9946-894E54706BDF.jpgF952CD59-91C4-4432-9CBB-1F1DD68882B8.jpg1B80D134-58D5-4D6E-979D-D7BEB31DBFE3.jpg

Nice! I like that little bit of rise. Is that a Century?

Wouldn't mind the extra bit of headroom when camping. I can sit up in ours but it's pretty tight.

Yes its the mid-rise sport. I was a little disappointed I can only get it with two T handles on the back door. But the extra head room was needed. Now I can fit the dog crates and a deck system. I went with the regular windoors because the sliding windoors leaked on the last cap

FYI, I bought a used Leer commercial cap without keys. I got new lock cylinders from eTrailer.com and “programmed them to my trucks key. The cylinders were pricey, $30 a piece but worth it

Nice truck and cap! I like the full length extra rise over the angled up toward the back style. Gives you room through the whole bed.

Nice cap! I just ordered a century cab height cap last week. I wish I had seen you pics before that though, I might have gone with the mid rise like yours. That’s the best looking rise I’ve seen

Welcome to the non color matched club! Had this one for about a month now and the contrast has kinda grown on me. If I do paint it I'm going the same route as you with the liner

It’s the mid rise sport and you can have them change the order it’s a $250 restocking fee if they started production. I’m sure century hasn’t even processed the paper work. They are on a 4 week production wchedule

Finally got around to posting some pics of my ARE V-Series installed on my ‘20 TRD Sport.

I also added a BedRug Mat XLT which I’m very pleased with.

So far very happy as is Layla (Weimaraner) and Chester (GSP)
