What's the distance between those crossbars? I'm considering the HD, but concerned they're too far apart for a traditional cargo box when I don't have a tent up there.

Not my cap but I'm going to guess they are like most cap/rack setups and ride on tracks on the cap, i.e fully adjustable.

Sorry I didn’t see the first question.
No not adjustable. They’re fixed point. I’ll measure it and get back to you!

44” between the crossbars. 46” center to center on the bars.

Awesome. Thanks. Yea I knew they were fixed which is why I was asking. Specs on these are tough to come by. I talked with ARE direct and they told me 55" which just seemed way too wide given the short bed.

Second camping season with the Leer 100XR. Kicks ass. I've had one on my Tacoma since 2012.

Both caps had problems the first six months or so. Both had more warranty work in the beginning then I'd prefer, but once dialed in, they're great. I prefer the lines of the Leer to ARE and SnugTop, so I'm willing to deal with some warranty issues.

Here's my A.R.E. Z Series on my 2008. It came with the truck when I bought it, and the coverage has been really nice to have. The middle sliding window was missing and the A.R.E. dealer said he had to replace the whole thing and quoted ~$500. Anyone had any luck finding replacement parts on their own? Specifically interested in going to a fold down window like A.R.E. offers or somehow converting to fold up to take advantage of the crewmax window.

    Tundra 2.jpg

Also looking to do a tent down the line, and have been planning out a DIY upgrade similar to the A.R.E. CX-HD setup, just with 80/20 aluminum extrusions and some brackets. Whoever has the CX-HD, can you take some pictures of how the aluminum mounts to the bottom of the cap, near the bed rails?

Has anyone had good results using roll on bed liner for their topper? Seems like all the ones I’ve seen on forums/YouTube look like the color is inconsistent. Thinking about bed lining my champagne topper to match my black truck.

Got a Leer third hand over the weekend. I think it might be a CX? Carpet, flush mount 3rd brake light, frameless rear hatch, side windows tilt out at the bottom/rear, thule roof rack. I need to refresh some of the seals and touch up a few small chips, reset to make sure it won't chew up my bed side paint like the previous owners 2019 (ouch!) but just throwing it on with old bed rail seals its already pretty dry in there!
    20200831_072400.jpg

Edit: does anyone know what part I'm looking for? Appears to be a tower for Thule tracker or tracker 2? Missing the top hoop that wraps the square bar. Broken off, and from all I can tell discontinued?

Found them only in stock as single feet from Thule part number Tracker II Foot Model number 7532152 $34 each

Ranch Sierra. After combing Craigslist and FB, I had to buy new. Their basic model, but that's kind of what I desired. It allowed me to retro fit my DIY lock from my Taco. 20200825_193901.jpg 20200826_185549.jpg 20200831_181401.jpg20200831_181331.jpg

Just added a shell to my '18 Platinum Crewmax

    SnugTop Rebel
    - Upgraded LED lighting
    - 2x sliding windoors
    - prop-up front window
    - keyless pro lock
    - Yakima Rack system
    - BajaRack MegaMule cargo rack

I hadn't planned to add the cargo rack, but now I'm wishing I had paid a little more for the "Sportsman's Package" with the reinforced roof. Doh!

Thanks! It wasn't cheap, but I'm super happy with the setup. I called around to every SnugTop dealer within 3hrs and ended up getting out the door for around $3,700. Quotes ranged from $3700-$4400, so it's worth the effort to shop around!

Nice! I should also clarify that $3700 included everything except the BajaRack. I purchased and installed that separately.

Finally, 500 miles and 7 hour round trip. This was specifically built for a 3rd gen tundra, so I’m happy. May paint it something other then expedition white.
